Tiger Woods PGA Tour Golf 08 (Wii, 2007)

Tiger Wods PGA Tour 2008 is a golf game like no other. I am not an avid golfer, but I sure love this game.

First off the new gameplay and game-styles available are fun, and accurate. This golfing game maybe should be rather stated as a golfing sim, but that could be said for all versions of the game lets move to Wii specifics---

The Graphics: With the advent of the affordable Wii, you do run into some problems. The Graphics are terrific, however the game does look better on other systems. That being said, you probably didn't buy the Wii because you want awesome graphics you bought the Wii because you wanted to have fun.

The Wii version of this game is so much fun. Using the Wii-mote as your golf club you run through this game swinging away. It is amazing how much control and functionality they have added into Tiger Woods 08 as opposed to the Wii Sports version of Golf. The Wii-mote is much more responsive and catches your movement much more accurately. That being said... it is not perfect. But it is not frustrating (as Wii sports could sometimes be). The Wii mote carefully senses your movements as well as after touches to feel where the ball should be going. This game boasts lots of user control and customization for the most immersive golfing game experience on the market.

Deffinitly a great game worth your time and money.

What can you say, all of Tiger Woods games for years are the same. Close to it. So don`t buy the new ones when you can get an older game for $15.

Don`t get me wrong, I like the game. Just doesn`t change much.

You whack the ball, play other people, and thats about it. Yes there are different courses, but same old same old. Sorry, but not a game that you can`t just put down.

I haven't bought a new video game console since....well, the orignial Nintendo game console with the Super Mario/duck shoot game cartridges. My wife finaly learned about the game's health attributes...ie you get up and move your body. She's a PE Teacher and has always disdained the whole concept of sitting on your rear playing video games...

Well, the latest Wii, with the Tiger Woods 08 game has now got me hooked. It's just enough frustration, much like the real game, but that frustration is eased quickly as you figure out the game...It's pure fantasy, as I've reached a level of performance where I go to the virtual pro shop and buy different clubs, cloths, shafts, shoes, pants socks, jewelry, hats, naked lady tees... NOT. RIP Rodney Dangerfield!

The game allows you to start as a green novice, set up your profile, than you can start on your "career" After you have some sucess, you start getting sponsorship offers from Virtual Sponsors....Imagine your Wii "alter ego" getting paid just to wear socks...

It's a sometime anguishing experience, but I've found more often than not, it's thrilling when you line up the shot, chose the right club, gauge the wind, then you pull the trigger, and draw back the club, making a smooth downswing and "THWACK"!...you've driven the par 4 green, set up nicely for Eagle! There's lots of little secrets you learn as you go along. I can't recommend this game more highly.

Great Game. Graphics are awesome. You can open more options the better at the game you get. It has alot of options.

The Good:
A lot of modes to play in and a great skill building/challenging Tiger mode. The tournament play is even fun in this version. The Wii controller just makes this game 100% better.

The Mediocre:
The graphics can't stand out because of the Wii's limited abilities, but they are still some of the best for a golf game. The announcers are so far off on telling you what your put will look like that it is funny. They call it straight when you need to move your aim by up to a foot sometimes!

The Bad:
Replays - If you sink a long long put, or you get a hole in one, or you make an amazing drop/chip shot - DO NOT hit the "1" button to see the replay. There is a good chance your SHOT WILL NOT GO IN ON THE REPLAY. It is a known issue in Tiger 08 on all systems.

- Big learning curve - going about the menus and control's functions; took awhile getting used to the game menu & control (after 5 to 6 time of game play)
- Not as accurate as to the actual real-life golf swing; need getting used to the stroke and swing with the Wii-mote
- Good graphics display
- Once getting used to the game, I really enjoy playing it
- Also let you play with the Pros
- Bought the game due to good review from previous users
- I would recommend buying this game

I'm an avid golfer and can attest this is so much closer to the thrills spills and euphoria you get from the real thing than any platform before it ever allowed. The heartbeat vibration feedback thing when you pure a shot is brilliant. the one dad in the review above was right about the real thing being better; however,it also will NOT mess with your golf swing. (Everyyone knows all his kid has to do is turn his hat around backwards to cure that hitch in his swing!) The variations and levels keep you coming back for more and the whole family enjoys this. It is the first video game that I can truly say that about, at least in my world.

This is Tiger Woods golf we all know and love taken to the next level with the Wii Remote!! Of course the visuals can't compete with the PS3 or 360, but the unique game play makes up for it. The game is much more interesting standing up and swinging rather than just sitting back and flicking a joy stick - much improved!!!

Very challenging and I sucked at it when I first tried it. A lot of tutorals that make it easy and fun. Thanks.............

This golf game is the best video game experience I have had to date! Playing this game on the Wii makes it like playing on a golf simulator. I also have the Tiger Woods golf for the PC and this Wii game is hands down much better. You have to make actual swings like your playing the game. You can change the difficulty in so many ways, you'll be challenged to play all the possible combinations and degrees of difficulty available.

If you have a Wii and like golf at all, you must have this game! You can buy aids for the game, like the nerf club, but I don't believe it is necessary to enjoy the game fully. I play it by just holding the controller and swinging as instructed and it plays great! No need to buy anything else for it! You need to make swings like when you play real golf, and if you don't, the results will be much the same as the real game!

You can change wind difficulty, hardness and speed of the greens and fairways. You can put spin on the ball.. or not. There are many courses to choose from and you can play by creating your own player or by using a pro also. You can compete against pros and change their skill levels to challenge you in stroke play and other formats. There also are practice games and a very challenging mini golf to try out! This is just a really good golf video game experience!

If you haven't bought this game yet.. do it! You'll be very pleased with it for sure. It doesn't take too long to get the hang of the game and you can increase the difficulty many times over to constantly challenge your skills! I whole heartedly recommend this golf game for the Wii! It is still a little expensive in the stores, but I found it on Ebay for a good savings... so shop around!

I got Tiger Wood 08 on wii for my birthday. It is a great game for wii. If you play golf, like golf, or are interested by it you should get it. You get to drive, hit fairway woods, hit irons, and putt like you would at the golf corse. You just hold the wii remote down, hold B and swing. If you think that the game you have on wii is a good enough game for wii, you are wrong. Tiger Woods is a huge upgrade from wii sports. You also get to play as pros in this game, like all the other golf games. Another great thing about the game is that you get to have up to four players, so the whole family can play. Then if you are just playing then you can play the career mode, where you play tournments or beat people in the tiger challange. We have 4 wii remots so it is nice to get a game that can have 4 players, but we also have Madden 07 and Mario Party 8 which can also have 4 players

the Wii Version rocks it like no other Tiger Woods 08 represents like no other Tiger Woods in the Franchise

We bought our Wii because we played Tiger Woods PGA Tour Golf 08 (Wii)on a neighbors Wii. We loved it. When we bought our Wii we thought that the Tiger Woods PGA Tour Golf 09 version would be better. NOT!!! We had a tough time controlling the putting. So we purchased Tiger Woods PGA Tour Golf 08 (Wii) on eBay and have loved every minute of our play time. Both versions have fun practice rounds. The putting control on the 09 version it takes away from the "Fun Play Factor". Even with the GREAT additional courses on the 09, I would still buy 08 as my first Tiger Woods PGA Tour Golf.

Tiger Woods 08 Is the best WII game ever Made!!! Great interactive realistic game play. An A+++ I have like 15 WII games and rarely does this game leave my machine.

If you've played any of the TW golf on Playstation etc it's pretty much the same. I was worried about playability with the Wii but it was a riot. It is by far, better than the golf game supplied in the Wii sports. I can't say for sure yet because I haven't played dozens of rounds...but it seems to score me darn close to real life. I guess my swing is bad!

The putting on the "08" is more realistic than the "09". I have spent many hours playing and is still a challange.

This game is seriously amazing...adds a whole new element to the already awesome Tiger Woods experience...don't worry about becoming bored with the ease of the game like with other gaming systems, simply increase the swing sensitivity and you'll have a whole new challenge...still can't have 2 players play anything in the tournaments that actually matter to building up your character, which sucks, but oh well. I love the mini golf "mini-put" game. very few things I'd change about this game..BEST SPORTS GAME I've ever played.

very realistic, some times does not respond to your motions but all in all good game , bought it cause i have the last 3 yrs on xbox 360 and wanted to have it for the wii

My father and I love it. It is much better than 09. It is very addictive. My 65 year-old father plays every day. The graphics and course designs make it feel very real. Worth every penny!

This product had no instruction with it on set up etc. After installing this in our Wii unit we discovered that there were instructions on the program, however, they were so distorted that you can't read them. In trying to go to the golf itself you had to first go to a practice round, and not just to a course.One would have to strain their eyes to make out what it tells you to do. I am not happy with this product at all.

Easy to control. All around good game. I would recommend this game to anyone, even those who arn't golf fans. This is a fun game.

The graphics are good and it is alot of fun to play. Highly recommended to golfers and non-golfers. Lots of family fun.
