Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005 (PlayStation 2, 2004)

EA Sports knows how to make a good golf game. It's almost back on top with Tiger Woods 05, but those lingering and amateurish graphic flaws keep it down.

I bought this game beause I really liked the 2004 version, which I played for countless hours. Upon starting the 2005 version I immediately found things that didn't seems quite as good as it's predecessor. It's seems that load times are longer between holes, and nobody likes waiting for something to load. Some of the graphics really don't give you a 3D feel, notably some trees are very poorly rendered and the sky, at times, has an odd texture with what seems to be a short draw-distance (the clouds don't extend far enough to the horizon.) Lot's of the commentators saying have been copied from 2004 and they don't always agree with what happens on the screen. After hitting a nice shot your character may break into a dance which is accompanied by music, but in you click through the dance scene in order to get on with the game, the music will still be playing completely out of sequence with what's actually going on in the game at the moment.
Not everything is bad though. I am probably being a little harsh with the rating I gave this game, it's not terrible, just not as good as last years. If you have 2004 saved on your Memory Card and you load this game, it'll recognize that you've played this series before and help you out with extra money and better skills to start off with.
If you've played and liked 2004, there's no need to buy this game, unless you get a great deal on it. If you've never played this series before and like golf this isn't a terrible game, however I'd recommend 2004 over 2005. One note, the online feature of the 2004 version no longer works, haven't tried playing 2005 online yet.

I have played all of the Tiger Woods games made on Ps2 and XBox and this is the best game made. I play this game over and over again. After beating it 5 times I still want to play it over again.

This is my very favorite of all the Tiger Woods from each and every year. the controls are the best for this one very easy to control the ball and the slice. Look at maybe getting this game for your next fun filled golf game.

This game is awesome, was in great condition and after seeing Tiger in person last week, the realism is so life like.

This game was better than the others and even the newest. The graphics and the new courses were the only difference I liked about the new one. The other things on this game were better; in my opnion.

I LOVE this game!! I am a 29 year old female. I am not a video game person at all... But one day I was watching my husband play and I decided that I wanted to create my own character too.. Well that's where it all began.. I didn't know one single thing about golf before playing except that the lower the score the better.. Well now not only do I understand the game of golf, I even enjoy watching it on tv now.. I would even like to go out and actually play some day.. My father is now addicted to the game as well and he was just like me before, never interested in golf.. Well now we have both beaten Tiger Woods and our favorite thing to do now is to create goofy looking characters and then play.. It makes it alot of fun..
GO BUY THIS GAME AND DO IT QUICK!! The whole family will enjoy

This is a great game. It would be a perfect gift for a golf fan. It is so realistic. You can buy all different kind of clubs, balls, and improve your person. They also have a great feature that you can use to make an amazing put. It is called tiger vision and if you do it right you will make the put every time. The last thing is they have a great mode called battle golf. This is where you play the computer or a friend, and when you win the hole you can take a club from your opponents bag that he can not use.

This is by far the best golfing game that i have ever played. You can customize you shots like crazy!

love the way you can custom make yourself as a golfer, and get better with practice and winning tourneys. The courses are also top notch and the ability
to hit all the shots is great too... I also loved the personal training that Tiger Woods gives himself, these lessons alone are worth the price of the game...

Awesome game. Great graphics. Easy to understand controls. Tons of things to do. I'm a fan of the series and this one is the best so far. Really fun to play. I'm definitely not disappointed.

I purchased the games for a friend who couldn't find one of the games in the set. She was VERY impressed with the games as well as the price for the group of them.

This game is really awesome! It is incredibly designed, with sharp-looking courses, realistic effects, ways to modify that are beyond fantastic, and so much more, it's THE golf game to have. You can shop for awesome stuff, get better attributes than Tiger, play against the legends, win trophies, get fantastic animations, create your own course, and unlock so many golfers! 5 star game!

TIGER WOODS PGA 2005. THE ITEM WAS LISTED AS NEW. IT WAS NOT. I RECEIVED IT WITH NO WRAPPING, IT WAS A SCRATCHED DVD THAT DID NOT LOAD. I BOUGHT IT 1 WEEK BEFORE GOING ON VACATION SO MY CHILDREN WHO ARE ALL OVER THE COUNTRY, AND MYSELF COULD COMPETE AT OUR VACATION HOME IN OUR SPARE TIME. TOO LATE TO REPLACE. AT LEAST MY SON IN LAW COULD BRING HIS AND USE IT IN MY PS2. THEN IT TOOK ME 6 WEEKS TO GET REIMBURSED BY PAY PAL AFTER I FILED A FORMAL COMPLAINT. WATCH OUT FOR THIS INDIVIDUAL. NOT A GOOD DEAL. I PAYED THE ASKING PRICE FOR THE ITEM. DIDN'T BID AND WAIT TO SEE IF I WAS LOW AND STILL GOT BURNT.

We are enjoying the game and having alot of compition between the two of us. everything is good. there is nothing that we dilike about it. we bought it to go with the rest of our tiger woods games we now have from 2004 - 2009 games. we haven't found out if there is any before 2004. we would like to find out some way if there is anything before 04

Good to play..its winter time...so play the game on the TV stay worm..fun for golf peeps that like playing golf...when not on the real corse....

I would rather not have this review given to anyone except the seller. This is a fun game when it works. We tried other games on our system and they worked so we have narrowed it down to this game. I think the seller did a great job getting it shipped quickly. Thank you

Great golf game for beginners but gets old quick as eagles and even double eagles become commonplace.

Tiger Woods 2005 is one of the best TW games there are. Out of all of them it has to be my favorite one as in the game you are able to loft your ball. As well as have Tiger Vision. I would never get rid of this game its just too much fun. I have no dislikes about the game whatsoever it is great all the way around. I decided to buy it as my brothers version of 05 stopped working and I wanted the game to play because it is just that good!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have every tiger woods ps2 game he has and even 99 and 2000 0n ps1. 05 is the only one that i still play. it's addictive and hard to put down. also, i'm 53 years old and this game brings the younger me out. buy it, try it, then thank me for the tip.
