Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 All-Play (Wii, 2008)

Latest update...9-20-08 After playing with this for about a couple of weeks now, my anger is just as it was when I wrote this...I cannot go past 9 holes without grinding my teeth at EA for the frustration that they have sold to us all...This has not improved, and I honestly cannot enjoy playing this on the Wii...Those that rave about this game, I am very happy for them...but for those who understand what I am talking about, will find themselves selling the game to get back as much $ as they can get back.

So 08' was a patch for the 07' and yes, they did make some improvements that made the game worth getting. However, this 09'...ya would think that EA would of taken the feedback from the customers and incorporate them into the 09' right? nope. Let start with the positives...yes, ya can now play online, and it's ok to be able to play around at the same time, and the graphics are good...the same old characters are there...the distance adjustment is good with the the club choice is changed for you as you change the distance while your placing the shot...sigh...the one thing that pissed me off to no ends is the putting...it is just unrealistic to choose you 10' 20' thru 100' putter to guage the putt...It just grinds me every time I play this game...This is such B.S. that I am so angry with EA...who in the hell thought of this brainfart? obviously this person doesn't play golf. This is such a drag, it just ruined the whole game. In 08' you find the line, and your effort in putting is near the same as if you are out the the greens...you have the ability to utilize feel in the putting stroke...but, in 09' you can toss that away...there is no feel and the worst part of it all...when your 1ft. away, you still have to take the controller back far enough for the device to register, then you see your ball fly over the hole, past 15 ft...then you will say to yourself...WTF? ok, I see what he ment in his reviews...Therefore, there is no feather touch to tap it in the hole...this is so disgraceful, they really need to hang the project manager who was responsible for this FUBAR. I cannot imagine EA having the guts to be proud of this release...it's just a matter of just getting the game out to make the $ and disregard the feedback of customers. If they would have just left the putting alone. It wasn't broken...they just reinvented the wheel in a shallow attempt to try to improve on something that didn't need improving...If you are passionate about the game of golf, and esp. this TW series, you may end up very frustrated with this release...Someone has to hang for this screwup, and Im afraid that it's the paying customers...In all honesty...if you can do without being online to play, you may be better off playing the 08'. This is so dissapointing, and you think I'm kidding...nothing is going to ruin your trust than a product that robs you of one of the most important part of the game...putting. May EA go broke, belly up, and be flushed down the toilet for doing this...Tiger would not back such a misrepresentation...maybe he sold out too, and he doesn't even know it. Perhaps T. Woods should evaluate the game before it is released with his name on it...

Did not get the product they refunded my money. It seems the add did not indicate they couldn't ship until a specific date. When I contacted them they never replied. Finally I went through paypal, they replied, I said that is fine, I will wait. No reply again, I just had my money refunded through paypal.

I have been a big fan of the "Tiger Woods PGA Tour" games for quite some time. I played them for years in college and found myself not being able to put the controller down. This game is just as good as the rest if not a little better. I love the fact that you actually have to swing the club instead of sitting down and being a coach potato. However I have noticed that putting can be a bit difficult. It doesn't recognize your club speed as well as it should. You'll try to put with a 50% swing and it just launches the ball. That being said, I'm still somewhat new to the game so it may take me a little longer to figure everything out. The makers of the game have done an exceptional job and I highly recommend it to any golfing fan or video gamer just looking for a challenging and fun game to play!!!

While this is a fun game, the controls are soemtimes hard to get used to. When you try to put and instead of a little tap - it sends the ball flying, and then the "commentators" mock and ridcule your hit. This gets annoying at times. However, the mini games are fun, and over all a really fun game. If only my golf game was as good as what I can play on this game!

This is simply the best game I have ever played, very fun and interactive. Play multiplayer and it will be a great day in any household. Great courses, players, and just a fun family game of golf.

Dislike - changed the color commentary from McCord and Feherty - didn't even get Faldo - but still use the same lines

Like - previously only owned for Xbox, so the Wii interface adds a fun touch; All-Play difficulty ensures the whole family can compete

Love - variety of unlockables; new putting infrastructure

This is a great addition to the series. The depth of the game is great. A huge amount of courses will keep you coming back. New mini games and coaching to help you improve your game. It has a great feel and can be made as difficult or as simple as you want. Create your own golfer and send him/her through the rankings. Great controls and a great feel, once you get the hang of the controls, and the putting system, you will agree on this well made game.

I really like the graphics and club selection , it is very realistic, only thing i don't like is the putting, but all in all it is a good game

Love this game, altho, I'm not a golfer. Never boring, great exercise, different levels. Very competitive !

This is a great game for the wii...although the new one coming out looks like it will have some even better features. However, this game is still very fun. It has loads of features and you can make your own character which is very detailed (cheek bones, brow, nose size, etc...). After about an hour...I have a character that looks like me and even my young kids recognize my character as me. Game play is pretty easy...very rarely do you have a bad shot like a duff...worse thing you can do is hit it too far or not far enough...occasionally you can end up hitting a tree or land in the water. Lots of fun extras like mini games you can play with friends. Highly recommend this game if you are a golfer or if you like sports video games.

It was easy to pick up and play and it is fun. There are a lot of things I enjoy about it but the commentators comments get old in a hurry. Trying to hit a consistant percentage shot is tough with the wii remote as it seems to vary quite a bit regardless how much I try to swing the same. Hitting a full shot is no problem and 350 yard drives aren't hard to do (my record so far is 398 yards). Some of the comments made by the game announcers don't match what is actually happening in the game, and some of the stats shown don't match what is happening either. Positives include pretty well detailed scenery and quite an extensive list of options how to create yourself and your golf attire as well as golf equipment. All in all I enjoy playing the game very much and am happy with it - but it could have been better. I would give it easily a 90+ out of a hundred, leaving room for improvements that could be made.

Don't buy from this company because you will get screwed if there are any problems with your game. They only provide a 7, Yes only 7, day warranty.

Great graphics, but my husband prefers the 08 version better. Says the putting is much easier on the 08.

I enjoyed previous Tiger Woods games for the Xbox360 and wanted to try this out on the Wii. It's great fun. Graphics are what you should expect from the Wii and you might get sick of standing to swing hours after hours. Multiplayer is hella fun too.

Graphics are good, but that's about all. I expected better, maybe too much. All in all, it is a good game, better than the others, but I wanted more.

i agree with jonny appleseed. got pissed off within the first 2 minutes of playing. the putting is very glitchy. producers totally bombed this part of the game. guess i will just stick to the 360 version. do not buy, if u are a serious gammer, rent it first to see what i mean.

Great game. Very realistic. Haven't used the wireless access yet. Looking forward to many hours of fun.

Bought it because it was appealing, and cheaper than 2010 that I'm not ready for yet, still learning to play~

Game is in good shape, and since the price was so low, I didn't mind paying a little more for shipping..you'd think $9.50 would be enough for a video game. Apparently it wasn't because I had to pick it up from the post office and pay additional postage. Inconvenience left a bad taste...

I bought it because a friend had it (08) and I enjoyed a limited time playing the game. It's facinating, if slow moving. I'll figure out how to speed it up. One feature I wish it had was "Save This Shot." I'd trade a lot of the other "bells & whistles" for that. I find putting a bit touchy & would prefer a "3D" rendering of the green similar to Wii Golf. The music I can (and do) live without, the commentary is blah. Overall, TW is fun to play, Hank Haney's pretty cool & the family will enjoy it this winter. Well worth what I paid on e-Bay.
