Synopsis A thrilling kung fu epic set in 17th-century China opens with the brutal invasion and destruction of secret Cangzhen Temple, home to 100 master warrior monks. Fearsome, fork-tongued Ying, a vengeful onetime pupil furious with Grandmaster, is responsible. The only ones left alive after Grandmaster is killed are Fu, Malao, Seh, Hok, and Long, five boys with incredible fighting skills, each in the animal kung fu perfectly matching their bodies and behaviors. Before he died, Grandmaster ordered the boys, all orphans, to go on separate journeys and discover their origins before they attempt to seek retribution for their fallen brothers. They must also wrest back the sacred dragon scrolls that Ying has stolen. This story is focused on Fu, whose powerful tiger kung fu leads him on his quest. The first book in the FIVE ANCESTORS series.
