The harsh yet rendering words infuse perfectly into jazzical mixtures; heavy piano and thick drumming immediately opens your ears for more. Fiona and her team somehow were able to give young angst a classical feel. I love everything about this music collection.

I bought this CD after hearing Fiona Apple on the radio. Her voice caught my attention immediatly and then after listening to her CD, I also because fascinated by her lyrics. She has a haunting and soothing voice and her lyrics tell a story and evoke emotion song after song. I highly recommend this CD to all!

This album had to grow on me. I loved Fiona’s voice immediately, but I didn’t always appreciate what I thought of as “chick music”. Luckily for me, I got past the label and realized the true depth of Fiona Apple’s music and personality. This album is raw and beautiful. It is good from beginning to end.

i really like a few songs on this disc , i feel it is average on number of songs that one might like on a cd , usually 2-4 songs .

I LIKED THAT THEY WERE VERY REASONABLE ON THEIR PRICES. I LOVED HOW FAST THE SHIPPING WAS.I HAD THIS CD WHEN IT FIRST CAME OUT AND I MISPLACED IT .THE CD WAS BROKEN SOMEONE HAD BURNED COPIES OF THIS CD WAY TOO MANY TIMES AND IT WOULD NOT PLAY AND THEY DID NOT HAVE ANOTHER CD LIKE IT AND OFFERED TO EXCHANGE IT FOR A DIFFERENT CD BUT THEY DID NOT HAVE ANYTHING I LIKED. I COULD HAVE SENT IT BACK BUT I ALREADY PAID TO HAVE IT SHIPPED TO ME AND WOULD THEN HAVE TO PAY TO SHIP IT BACK AND IF I DID SEE ANOTHER CD I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THAT SHIPPING ALSO! IF THEY ARE GOING TO SELL USED CD'S THEY NEED TO MAKE SURE THEY WORK BEFORE THEY LIST THEM ESPECIALLY SINCE THEY ONLY HAVE 1 COPY OF EACH CD. THEY WERE VERY NICE AND TRIED TO FIX IT.

Have all the other CDs by fiona apple and I liked her from the beginning. her voice is sultry and sexy and relaxing. I really enjoy it.

It has very strong words that tell a story. I think most people can relate to her, i did. Some of the music might seem down but it's also soothing. Good buy. good cd.

I love this cd so much, I actually bought it when it came out in 1996-97 but misplaced it--so I HAD to get another copy. Her lyrics are genious. This CD is so great, you really have to listen for yourself.

This is Fiona's first album, and her secon best to date. It sets the stage for all that is to come from her - bluesy, jazzy, occasional loud, always deeply personal. Not the type of thing to play at a party, It's more suited to a quite night at home. Maybe when you find yourself in a funk and decide to just go with it. She has a superb voice, and the piano playing is excellent. Not over orchestrated, and mostly acoustic. I like it - when the time is right.

Fiona's haunting vocal work will blow you away, as always! She is an amazing artist and this CD would be a great addition to ANY collection!

I have wanted the CD for awhile and found it for a great price. Bought the CD for about the price of a Latte (including shipping!). Due to eBay and Half.com's webpage setup I was able to view the condition of the product so that there were no surprises. I love my CD and continue to be pleased with the ease of buying CDs and other products on both Half.com and eBay.

I decided to buy this product because I had it before but somehow lost it. I've always liked this album a lot and since I found it on ebay, at a very good offer, I made a bid for this item without thinking it twice. I like all the songs on this album and really, there's nothing I dislike about it.

I believe this is my second time replacing this CD. Worth it. The lyrics are fantastic although somewhat biting and the music is dreamy, which is an interesting mix.

This is Fiona's first and most haunting album. The ambience is brooding and emotional. The track best known on the album is her first hit Criminal. My personal favorite is Shadowboxer. I love the imagery of the lyrics.

This CD is Fiona's first album and delivers great songs in somber tones. Tracks like "Criminal", and "Shadow Boxer" showcase her huffy and strong voice. The songs all keep a very mellow vibe perfect for lounging or setting a mood, nothing upbeat. All in all, the CD is a must have for any 90's music fans.
