MEDEA: Euridipides' Greek tragedy is transposed to Denmark in this 1988 television entry from Lars von Trier. Following Jason's betrayal of the woman he once loved, Medea vows revenge upon her former lover and the children she has had with him. This tragic retelling is based on a script by silent film master and von Trier's fellow countryman Carl Theodore Dreyer (THE PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC).
