Ticket to Ride by Larry Kane (2003, Package)

I love this book and the CD of interviews .I gave it to my 19 yr old daughter and she immediately started reading and did not stop for several days(which she never does with books)I thought it was a great price and very timely on the delivery. All in all it was a great deal.

This book is a rare inside account of what life was like for John, Paul, George and Ringo at the height of Beatlemania. Most of the books that have been written about the band seem to focus on their dazzlingly creative later years; this is one that provides valuable information and insight about the equally exciting and significant music of their early period. News reporter Larry Kane has captured the frenetic pace of the concert schedule they used to maintain before they quit touring, the devotion of their fans which could often be both moving and dangerous, and the emotional roller coaster that the four very young Beatles endured as they dealt with the hysteria that surrounded them. It is a fascinating read for anyone who is interested in the Beatles or the musical innovations of the so-called "British Invasion" period in popular music and I recommend it very highly!!!
