Not What I Expected
I bought this book hoping to gain a deeper understanding of Tibetan Buddhism's symbolism and mythology, as the cover suggets. And it does appear to give a very detailed accounting of the tradition's customs, rites, and philosophy. I was, however, very disappointed to discover it is, in fact, a reprint of a book first published in 1895 which, to me, renders the information outdated, opening the possibility that much of the information it contains may be an inaccurate accounting of the way the religion is practiced today.
