This book is not for a beginning reader, especially someone learning Spanish as a second language. The Spanish is not very basic and many words I was not sure what they meant. It is mainly Spanish foods. The pictures are vivid and the story is good.
The story is about a woman who believes she is only a great cook because of her magic cookbook, but then her cookbook stops working and she has to do it on her own.
