Thunder Road (DVD, 2000)

This movie was on TMC and I loved it enough to buy it for myself and my Mom. The best part about the movie was Robert Mitchum's acting. He is smuggling moonshine and officials try to catch him, but have a difficult time. The second best thing was discovering a singer (who plays his girlfriend) whom I never heard about before! Her name is Keeley Smith, who sang with Louis Prima years ago. The only song she sings is "Whipporwhill", but it is exceptional. She has the most wonderful voice (net to Doris Day!). Problem is, it is only available on a 45rpm and so rare that it is not obtainable to me yet!
This is an old fashioned "great" movie. You need to have this if you watch and collect old movies! Rebecca

Thunder Road has always been one of my favorite movies as Robert Michum has always been one of my favorite actors. He and John Wayne together even better. I saw this movie for the first time at a drive in threater, the screen don't get any bigger or better than. I guess it was in the early to mid 60s and I went back to see it two or three times. I bought it on VHS tape when it first came out and now on DVD, so I can watch it now and then for the next 25 plus year. The movie being in black and white doesn't bother me at all, it is still a great movie. As for dislikes, I haven't any.

I bought this movie because I remembered watching it when I was a little girl. It was just as good now as it was then! The only thing I wish was that the song "Thunder Road" had been the Robert Mitchum version. It's a great movie that my whole family enjoyed.

So cool. :)nothing like the 50's and hot rods. What happened to the great USA. I you like fast cars and black and white you will love this movie.

This movie was a flash from my past. I've always loved Robert Mitchum. This was a movie in black and white....anyone remember those kind of movies??? It's a classic!! The reason I purchased this particular movie was because it brought me back to a world which has long since passed. I would recommend Thunder Road to any and all....young, old, and anyone in the middle of "Y" and "O". Smiles are always welcome in my world, and this movie brought back a lot of those. It was extremely enjoyed!!!

I bought this for my brother-in-law who is crazy for all the old stuff. He loves it. Good heart warming, family movie.

I got it for my mom for her birthday she loved it said it is just like the original except now in color and on dvd.

If you like B&W old movies with action you'll love this one, Robert Mitchem is ofcourse great. Robert's real lifes sone plat his kid-brother, lots of action about moon-shine runners.

An excellent movie from the fifties about running moonshine. I saw it as a boy and knew I could find it on Ebay. I especially enjoyed the old cars that are used in it. Ebay is an excellent source for all of the old movies and the prices are great.

This is an older movie that I like. It has good actors, and brings back memories. It's a classic movie that can be watch several times and see something new each time.

Thunder Road came out when I was in school. I never had a copy of the movie until now. This is a high quality DVD and the movie looks just like the first time I saw it 40 years ago. One of the actors was my High School Principal so the movie is special to me. I am very pleased with the purchase.
