Good read, this book will give you a look at a different type of world where a few people really talk to the dead. Interesting concept.

1st timing reading this author and it so happens it is his first book. I loved the book, loved the plot, love the characters except he made the main character a whimp. The book kept me up when I worked the night shift and usually I have to stop reading and do something else but not in this case. Vry worth the read. I only wish that this was true in real life because Violets could ease alot of worries.

Second Favorite Book Of All Time

Love this book. Couldn't put it down. Awesome story!

About The Book:

In a world where the dead can testify against the living, someone is getting away with murder. Because to every generation are born a select few souls with violet-colored eyes, and the ability to channel the dead. Both rare and precious—and rigidly controlled by a society that craves their services—these Violets perform a number of different duties. The most fortunate increase the world's cultural heritage by channeling the still-creative spirits of famous dead artists and musicians. The least fortunate aid the police and the law courts, catching criminals by interviewing the deceased victims of violent crime.

But now the Violets themselves have become the target of a brutal serial murderer—a murderer who had learned how to mask his or her identity even from the victims. Can the FBI, aided by a Violet so scared of death that she is afraid to live, uncover the criminal in time? Or must more of her race be dispatched to the realm that has haunted them all since childhood?

I actually bought the sequel to this one day at the store, not knowing that thre was a "first book". I really liked the sequel, so I decided to get this one, but couldn't find it anywhere!! This one was okay, but given that I already knew how this one ended (courtesy of the sequel), it wasn't quite all I expected it to be.

Stephen Woodworth - Through Violet Eyes
Review created: 06/04/06

Through Violet Eyes is a fantastic read. Somewhat unusual topic, full of suspense and intrigue. Appeals to a wide age range. It drew me in and I was reluctant to put it down. I immediately had to read his second book, With Red Hands, which was also terrific. At the time, In Golden Blood wasn't yet released. As soon as it came out, I picked it up. Woodworth continues to fascinate. I'm hoping yet another book comes out soon.

This series is one that I absolutely loved, and had to add to my collection. My daughter, 15, also read them and thought they were great. We've been telling our friends about these books and have yet to find any who didn't like it.
