Don Miller is one of my favorite authors. This is a story of two young men on an adventure of discovery. Almost no money, in an old beat up van, driving from Texas to Oregon. A witty, insightful journey to find out about faith.

Donald grew up in my church and was friends with my daughter. He was a cute kid growing up and I was eager to find his books.

A great read I could not put it down!! This is a story of a young man (Donald Miller, auther of the NYTIMES bestseller, Blue Like Jazz), who leaves home; leaves the familiar, and branches out with an eccentric young man (Paul) who has nothing yet has it all! He has an old rattletrap VW van, and about 300$ to get him to Portland Ore. He takes life one day at a time, and lives on rice and beans. He is happy with the little that he has. Donald miller, now one of my favorite writers, (and apparently a fav. now of Dem. Pres. hopeful Barak Obama) (Donald Miller did one of the benedictions at the recent CO DEM CONV. ), describes their long conversations in the van as they travel for about three months and just essentially bum around. During this time he begins to be released from his faith in a god who does not exist, and begins to get to know the true God, that is really out there. It is a story of a young man's pilgrimage away from home, and home again to God, and faith.
