PLOT: bored housewife Doris is sick of those "staged" commercials using STARLETS to attract the males and tells what occured with the HAPPY SOAP at a party and finds her self the NEW star of the Happy Soap Commercials~! GREAT~

what a fun cute movie~ Doris is great as the wife of Gynecologist (JAMES Garner)I wish my gyne looked like HIM~ LOL any way while attending a dinner Party for the well to do~ Doris tells her own version of how "HAPPY SOAP" saved her that day with her kids little does she know they CAST her as the next "Happy SOAP GIRL" suddenly her happy but boring life is anything but~ SUDDENLY she is filming commercials daily, ADD her suddenly very JEALOUS HUSBAND (Garner) ADD the FREE swimming pool for the NEW Happy Soap "Star " Doris and when Garner drives his car into the POOL he does not know is there~ it only adds to the total chaos and fun~ so Garner has to make his WIFE jealous enough to give UP her fame to make sure their life comes back to normal~ ADD a fun "delivery of a baby " in a limousine!~ what ADDS to the humor is the fun OUTTAKES OF PLOT so popular at the time in the early 1960s is Carl Reiner (the Dick Van Dyck) show as the ever the same but changing HAPPY SOAP PARODY~ Day shines but the showstopper is Garner who can make us laugh at his attempts to get his OWN wife's attention back on HIM~

Our whole family enjoyed watching this movie. Doris Day and James Garner were great together! My girls keep asking me to rent it again.

This is my favorite Doris Day movie. She and James Garner have a great chemistry together in this wonderful comedy romance about a housewife who wants a career and her Obstetrician husband who wants to be the sole breadwinner. Through a series of manipulations and mishaps they find their way back together in a wonderful "Golden Age of Hollywood" style.

Enjoyed this movie. It is very funny and I laughed so hard it hurt my stomach. It is good to see a move that is not violent and not sexually explicit. The movied today are so warped and makes you feel depressed. Even the so called funny movies make sex or severe violence the center and I get sick and tired of this kind of movie. The world is depressed enough. We need movies like they made back in the 50 and 60's. We need to laugh and be lighthearted.

This is an old vintage movie that has been redone into a DVD. The picture was great. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The item was all that it was supposed to be. Great.

I bought this for a Christmas Present and the people just got back to me. They were thrilled with the gift and said the story line, and quality of DVD were excellent and they would be watching it many, many times. They are huge fans of Doris Day (even though they are only in their 20's!!)

Personally, anything with James Garner in it works for me. He is one of my favorite actors. This movie didn't disappoint. It was great fun to watch the antics of Doris Day in this one, and the reactions of James Garner to her antics.
If you have seen this one you would also like another movie they did together called, Move Over Darling.

My mother is a huge fan of Doris Day. She especially loves her comedys. This is one of our favorites. She owned this one on VHS and loves it so much, that she has requested it on DVD, for Christmas. If you like her comedys, you will not be dissappointed in this film, it is hillarious.

I enjoyed the whole movie, and the great premise of it. How advertising is so important, and how expensive it is to advertise.

I purchased the dvd because I am a Doris Day fan......I received the dvd well packaged and in a timely fashion as I expected.

This movie has a lot of slapstick comedy which is still funny. The two main characters are really great actors and I enjoyed how they interacted on the screen. The scene where the car winds up in the swimming pool is a hoot.

This was bought as a gift for my husband, as he our daughter and myself love Doris Day, hubby has been looking for this movie for a long time now has it for his collection.

This is a delightful film from the days gone by. If you like Doris Day films, this is one to buy for your movie collection.

Nothing like the classics.....Doris Day is fantastic in this
movie as she is in all of the ones she starred in.

Classic Doris Day film. She is at her hillarious best teamed up with James Garner this time. Very much like her Rock Hudson films. A sweet little lighthearted comedy that is worth watching over and over again.

I paid for and never received this product. I have previously seen this movie and love it and wanted it for my collection. I will find another one to purchase.

Years ago I saw the movie, The Thrill of It All, starring Doris Day and James Garner. I thought it was a cute film for the family, including children. When I saw the DVD for sale, I bought it. To this day it's still a cute movie, and if you like Doris Day films and also enjoy watching James Garner, you'll like this movie. Their little daughter is played by the same little girl that portrayed Gretel in "The Sound Of Music." It takes place in New York and Garner is a doctor, and Ms. Day is a housewife. She is chosen to advertise soap and the comedy is based on her new career and her husbands feelings regarding her work. There are some cute scenes concerning tons of soap suds, and Doris Day trying to work through her early commercials. If you like or love the Doris Day comedies, you'll probably enjoy this one!
