A Thousand Days in Venice by Marlena De Blasi (2003, Paperback, Reprint)

This is a fun novel, but I would suggest reading it first. The sequel "A Thousand Days is Tuscany" is even better. More colorful, delicious to the last page. So this is a good book but not as good as the other one...so don't do what I did and read the sequel first.

Loved this book; loved the story and the romance and the vividness of Venice. Having been to Venice twice before and planning another trip next June, I wanted to refresh my memory on the city. This book did all that and more. The love story of how she met her husband and their life in Venice was mesmerizing and I felt like I was right there with her in each event. I highly recommend this book. A great read.

I like it because my wife loves to read books like this. She reads late at night in bed and thoroughly enjoys this type of book. This is the type of adventure book that peaks her interest and holds her spellbound until she finishes reading it.
