Comedy at its best. It is the transition of comedy from the slapstick of Abbott and Costello to the situation comedies that we see today. I saw it first in the 1960's and it is still as good now as it was then. It is one of the few comedies from that period that has weathered well.

A simple theme ... an early 1900's air race, in the early days of heavier-than-air flight,
this comedic romance, with some drama, too ... is a good romp with a simple plot. When the race and win the girl ... or, wait a minute ... maybe it's lose the race, but win the girl anyway? ... ... or ....

In any case the film is fun to watch, a good lesson in the transience of winning and losing ... and a warming look at history that puts our modern times into perspective.

A good film for couples to watch, and for children to enjoy, too.

I've always enjoyed this movie, reminds me of my ultralight flying days. I flew for the airlines (now retired) and I have to say that the ultralight was by far the most fun flying I ever did in 20,000 hrs of flying.

I bought "Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines" because it was a favorite decades ago, and I saw it listed on eBay at a very reasonable price. I liked the additional features in addition to the movie itself. The seller shipped it promptly, and I received it in excellent condition.

This is one of the classic funny movies. A sidebar important to people interested in aviation is that many of the aircraft were reproductions of actual flying examples of very early aircraft. Funny and historic too!

Perfect DVD, played crytal clear from beginning to end, obviously a high quallity original DVD. I would definitely buy from this seller again.

For all aviators or people loving aviation, this is a must see. This is how it was and how it should be, all the regulatory framework that is killing aviation should wake up and see what aviation is all about.

The humor in this film, addresses the Germans and the Italians especially, and although I am a part German and fly an Italian plane, I can very much enjoy it. Some 20 years have elapsed since I last saw this film, but still I enjoy it more, especially all the great actors that now have passed away, regrettably. I salute them all.

I recommend this film to all, young and old alike.

Great movie from 1965. In fact, I wish they still made such type movies. For those in aviation, sit back and enjoy!!!!!

I'm really glad that this is finally available on DVD. It was great in the '60's and still great fun today. The age old challenge of good guys and villans is perfectly set in the venue of a historically true flying machine race. The acting is about a tongue in cheek as possible, and the aircraft are not perfectly accurate, but certainly close enough (the French entry is powered by a VW engine, for example). Other technical details, like Lord Rawnsley's Rolls-Royce, however are Perfect!

It is a good companion movie with "The Great Race" (1965) with Tony Curtis, Natalie Wood, Jack Lemmon, Peter Falk, Keenan Wynn etc. Best pie fight ever filmed!
