This movie is SENTATIONAL. It was a mini series on T.V. years ago. I saw it then and have never forgotten it. Have seen it several times and never tire of it. There is always some small aspect that you missed and discover each time you watch it. The acting is excellent and the entire story line is unique and keeps your interest throughout. It follows the lives of one family (Cleary's) and the trials and tribulations they endure over years or time. One of the main characters (Richard Chamberlain), shows the true feelings of a man in love with a woman and his God. Hard choices to be made. Heartbreak to be felt. Betrayal mostly to himself. The name of the movie THORN BIRDS, explains the movie so well. It is explained in the movie, but I will not give it away, to those who have not seen it. A deep and moving series.(About 8 hours in length, but well worth it). Like reading a book, you may have to set it aside and pick up where you left off, but, you can't wait to get back to it. If you have time to read the book by Colleen McCullough, its worth reading too. SUPER MOVIE, buy it you won't regret it, no matter what the cost!!!!
