My son is autistic and a friend point out her third book to me and it prompted me to order the second. The book is extremely interested and revealing about the world of an autistic person. So much so I am reading the book a second time. When you have an autistic child or now young adult raising them is not an easy task especially when they are so sensitive you can not enjoy everyday activites or festive events. You find nothing out of the ordinary is enjoyable and when that autistic person is not in touch with their feelings, only basic needs and wants, you find yourself raising a perpetual 2-4 year old child year after year. So it is nice to at least understand what it is they are going through.

Reading about Temple Grandin gives me insight into a world known only to her and autistic people. I am greatly inspired by what she's accomplished with all the odds against her.
