Love these Rick Sebak documentaries!!
This is an wonderfully interesting, nostalgic look at some of the things that used to be in and around Pittsburgh that aren't anymore, hence the name. Something about Rick Sebak's voice just draws you in and makes you want to listen and be interested in what he's telling you about. He has a bunch of these shows out and this one is second only to Kennywood Memories, I feel. The streetcars, West View Park and the Dips coaster, Forbes Field, the Allegheny County Fair... all things I missed out on because they were gone before I was born or when I was too little to know. It makes me see how great it was to have that stuff around and wish it still was. This is a great DVD for those who remember and miss these places/things, but also for those like me, as I said, who weren't fortunate enough to be here yet to see/experience them - it brings them back to life for us so we can feel like we were there too. :)
