The Thing About My Folks (DVD, 2006)

Peter Falk is the only reason I chose to watch this movie in the first place. At first the movie was slow going, however as the movie got into it's second half, the story line got a little more interesting. Father and son finally find a way to bond after a lot of years have passed and Paul Reiser who played his son showed his father after a long weekend in the country that the father had made a lot of mistakes over the past years. Some very funny parts will make you laugh and some sentimental parts will make you cry. A good movie after all.

I liked the down-to-earth quality of this movie. Paul Reiser plays the lead role of the son devastated by the reality that his mother left his father. Him and his father finally spent some quality time with each other after several decades of his father choosing work over his family. It is a great movie and very identifiable.

This film is a diamond in the rough. I began to watch it because I am a huge fan of Peter Falk. I also enjoy Paul Reiser's acting, also. But this film exceeded my expectations! It's a heart-warming, yet, at the same time, very amusing, story that will keep a smile on your face throughout.
