She's right!

As a novice rider and horse owner, I was sure that I had a "problem horse." The title intrigued me so I bought it despite misgivings about the age of the book. Well, neither horses nor people have changed that much since 1982! I learned how to better read my horse's body language and interpret what she's "telling" me, and I learned several things that I was doing wrong in the saddle. Just changing a few things about how I hold the reins and carry myself in accordance with Mary's advice made a significant difference in how my horse was responding to me, and I quickly learned that I was as much, if not more, the "problem" as my horse.
In this book, Mary explains clearly what to do and how to do it without a lot of unnecessary technicality, and her techniques work. I feel much safer now while riding, and have significantly fewer problems getting my horse to do what I ask since incorporating the things I learned from this book.
