There Is a Time (1963-70) by Dillards (The) (CD, Oct-1991, Vanguard Records USA)

This is a compilation of 29 tracks in the Bluegrass genre. I was happy with the quality of the remastering process used. The quality was high enough that EQ was not required, though recommended, for the conversion to mp3. It is obvious that a professional recording process was used and this is not a simple tape to CD copy.

I never recieved the product cd. So I can't write a review saying if the product was good or bad. I will say that I am very disapointed to say the least in e-bay and their sellers. This is the first time that I have ever ordered off from e-bay and probably the last. I paid almost $20.00 for 1 cd that I never received. I don't intend on ordering from this site ever again and I will tell all my friends not to as well. So good job buddy for giving e-bay a bad name and loossing them thousands of dollars business. congratulations for being such a dark ender.

This is a compilation of hillbilly/bluegrass and folksy songs done by the Dillards from 1965-1969. A few of the tunes are recognizable from being performed on The Andy Griffith Show. The Dillards are the group who performed as the Darlin' Boys on the show. The album is a nice mix of tunes that show the range of the group. They even do a beautiful a capella version of Lennon & McCartney's "Yesterday". Some of my other faves on the disc are : I'll Fly Away, Ebo Walker, Hey Boys, and Dooley. There are about 27 tracks on the CD.

Enjoyed their performances since seeing them for the first time on the old Andy Griffith Show, portraying the Darling Boys.

This compliation CD is one of the best on this incredible group of bluegrass musicians. The Dillards were most active in this period and came out with some ground-breaking work that even Bill Monroe would be proud of. This is another must-have for the bluegrass fan and the pickin' is clean and very fun to listen to. You can't beat it for purity.

Excellent CD from the group made famous on the Andy Griffith Show as the Darling Boys. Excellent CD with great songs if you like bluegrass.

I ain't heard as purty a music as this since my ol' hound dog Blue treed a possum. I heard this group on the Andy Griffith show and loved thar music. They only thing that would make it better is if it were to have a video because this group even looks like Hillbillies. Do a search for "The Dillards" on the Internet and you will see their music influnced a lot of other bands. I can see why. A very enjoyable CD. This is the first CD I had bought in years and well worth it. A+

It started out great and went completely away from bluegrass. If I didn't want bluegrass I wouldn't buy bluegrass.
