Theory and Practice of Counseling and Psychotherapy by Gerald Corey (2008, Hardcover, Student Edition)

I wanted this book because I actually NEEDED it for a class I am taking. I NEVER got the book, and still haven't been reimbursed for it! I will not buy anymore from ebay until I get my money back.

I purchased this book on half.com as it was much cheaper than the list price in my university's bookstore. This was a required text for my master's level social work practice class. I am glad that the professor chose this textbook as it is a very practical book to use in my studies. Corey reviews various approaches in pscyhotherapy and counseling, who developed them and how they are applied in practice. Highlights strengths and weaknesses of each therapy approach and acknowledges multicultural perspectives. Great text!

It covered most of what my professor had to say. So I stopped reading it. But it does a really good job of outlining what a therapist/counselor is supposed to do.

The price was great, it shipped quickly and the theoretical exercises to use with clients was really an asset in terms of how to approach a counseling session from different psychological theories.

I have nothing but praise about that book. It came so quick to me. The price was affordable. I really had a good deal. I have no regrets. I love it.

I enjoyed the book because it provided good information on a variety of theories used in counseling such as person centered and choice. It also provided an ongoing treatment view of one individual under each theory, this was interested to see how each theory viewed the same individuals problems.

I like that I can buy international version text books and use them in my classes. I have bought several of this type and they have ALWAYS had the same content and the US version that my classmates are paying 3x as much for.
