I Was watching the History Channel early in the morning, preparing for work. For a week they featured Teddy Roosevelt. I was not able to watch entire episodes, so I bought the book to fill in the gaps. Mr. Morris did a fine job. I recommend this book to all with a interest in American history, as well as those who aspire to become political figures. We sure could use a person like T.R. again.

This book by Edmund Morris is very detailed and gives the reader a great insight into Teddy's personality. It opens on the day he is catapulted into the White House by the assassination of the president, McKinley. A brief synopsis is given of the earlier book by Morris, and shows how Teddy used his power to transform the park system in the US to save the land for generations to come. It covers the difficulties encountered when acquiring the land for the Panama Canal, and many other policies that Teddy initiated. I found it fascinating and I think others will too. Highly recommend this book.
