The Wire - The Complete Second Season (DVD, 2005)

Good lead in to third season, which is the best yet. The action was intense and there were unexpected twists and turns just as with the first season. I think the writers should consider staying closer to the original format regarding the police, the drug boys, and the politicians, though. Or at least find a way to intertwine the stories a little bit better.

Season 1,3,4 was great, but season 2 was only ok, i guess the producers wanted to do something different with this season, they showed mostly the "connect" instead of the dealers, it was kind of boring to watch.....i bought 1 and 3, then bought this one last.....

i still havent received my item.... i want to know whats going on. Its been about a month now, so is it still on its way. Im expecting a response from you guys.

The Wire Season 1 was phenomenal but season 2 falls short...it just was as interesting or fast moving...really like the character of D. Barksdale...didnt like the way his character was outed out of the series would have stayed more interesting if they would expanded upon his character...the whole shipping story wasnt interesting or great in keeping your attention...I am curious as to how season 3 will play out...currently watching season 3 and it appear to go into a whole different direction....Thank God

After working at 2 law enforcement agencies since "the wire" first came out, and hearing rave reviews of it, I thought I'd give it a try. Almost watched Season 1 straight through. Probably did 2 hours a night of it right through the TV writers strike. Was fantastic. Just starting Season 2 and it's starting off right. Love that they show both the good and bad of working for a police agency, and the difficulties in actually working a case to fruition, and how so many little agenda's jeapordize a good days work. Kudos' to the writing staff of "The Wire", and to the actors, who are wholly believable as their characters.

It's a complex plot with a swirling array of characters, but a great story and some of the best TV you'll ever see.

I liked that the show kept the same tune as the 1st season, kept it interesting.

Loved the drug situations and the investigations/undercover senarios

didnt like where the investigation was taking place, didnt like that the 1st four episodes were pretty boring with nothing interesting going on.
im a fan of the show, but i feel the 2nd season was more a dud, all the other seasons were great.

The series is very realistic in what goes on behind the scenes of society. Politics, money, influience and violence are some of the driving forces in most big cities. The Wire portrays this in a very entertaining way. Telling stories of both sides of the spectrum.

I love all the HBO AND Showtime series, i watch them all! i loved the wire season one so i could not wait to get my hands on this season to see what happened next.The DVD'S were in the best shape just like new, i got them at a great price and the box they came in was in the brand new shape and it stores the dvd's very nice and keeps them safe. I decided to buy the dvd because of the condition the seller said they were in and it is one of my favorite shows so i wanted to add it to my collection of course, right now im bidding on season one to have a complete set!

The Wire Quickly be came one of my most favorite TV Dramas of all time. My first copy was stolen and I needed 2 replace it. The one thing I disliked about season 2 was that they went away from what made season 2 famous!!! But it's still a must have....

The Wire (an HBO special)is the high level of writing and acting that is rarely seen on American TV anymore except sometimes with PBS productions. The actors fill out their characters, the writers give several different perspectives of people, places and events, and a real cross section of the U.S. population is shown. Finally!! The Wire was recommended to me by friends in Europe who get HBO specials as part of their programing. I bought the set of DVDs of the 2nd season to see at my leisure after renting the set of the 1st season. The acting, the plot development, seeing a real population of people from Gays and Lesbians to Hispanics, African-Americans, etc. that make this country have all hooked me and I am a fan.

I love this series. I have seen probably 60% of the episodes for the entire series and I love them. This particular season is different, not bad, just different. Still keeps your attention, it just goes a different direction. You have to watch all the seasons to make the series complete though.

I like that it is focused on one specific area, and not making it seem as if "The Wire" is all of Baltimore.

I watched the last season on HBO and had to order the other seasons to see what led up to the ending. Season 2 is the most exciting season yet. Great storyline, Interesting characters. I love THE WIRE
