The Wire - The Complete Fourth Season (DVD, 2007)

This is hands down THE best that television has to offer and is a show that is a must have for every DVD collection. Season four continues the tradition of offering the very best writing on television, artfully woven storytelling combined with skillful, thoughtful direction and beautiful, authentic and heartfelt performances. This season continues to explore the depths of the breakdown in the lower economic level of society and how the overall lack of opportunity, the breakdown of the family unit and overall neglect has effected this particular area of Baltimore. Season Four delves into the failure of our American education system along with the tragic effects of the 'no child left behind' program. This particularly heartbreaking season follows the lives of four young men within the middle school system and puts a glaring light on a system that offers little hope for their futures. Although this particular drama looks at Baltimore in partcular it serves as a perfect example of the wide scope of detrioration that the issues the show continues to focus on have effected too many of our, once great, American communities. This show is relentless in it's pursuit of honestly portraying the effects of neglect on an entire portion of society. It is unflinchingly in it's honesty and is a perfect example of using the medium of television in the most responsible way...not only to entertain but to educate, enlighten and provoke thoughtful conversation. I was particularly impressed with the fourth season and cannot believe that this show continues to not gain the recognition and viewership it so richly deserves.

I like this tv show, it's about baltimore drug dealers and cops trying to stop the drug dealing in the city. In this season it's about the kids in baltimore and how they grow up in a city that has a bunch of drug dealers and the kids see them making quick easy money and have to decide weather to go through school or go down the drug path. I like this show because its what happens in real life. I bought it because i like this show and wanted to see it again.

The Wire is the best crime show ever on television, in my opinion, and the 4th season is my favorite of the 5 seasons. The writing, acting and directing are superb, and render a realistic feel. This season focuses on the schools. I came to care so much about all the characters across the seasons, but particularly the kids in season 4. This purchase was well worth the price.

This has to be the series on TV!!! HBO hit the nail on the head with this one. It's not a slow drama by any stretch of the imagination. It keeps you on your toes with characters that you are not soon to forget. I love the way they phase out characters while at the same time phasing in new unforgettable characters.

I received the complete fourth season of the wire and I was completely satisfied with my purchase. The DVD arrived on time and it was in excellent condition. I didn't know what to expect when I placed my order because it wasn't stated if the DVD was new or used but it was stated that it was sealed. If you ask me I received a new DVD that's never been viewed by anyone. After searching the internet for this DVD I came to the conclusion that this DVD was the best buy for the price and that includes the shipping cost. I'm kicking back and relaxing and I'm checking out my complete fourth season of "The Wire"

I love the item it is exactly as described. I purchased it because it is one of my favorite shows. It is actually the first series I have purchased and Im looking forward to season five. The price was also affordable.

Wire 4 (and all three previous seasons) is probably the best series I've ever come across. (Well, Sopranos are bloody good too!) But the Wire is so different from the cliche and corny cop 'n robbers show that it literally flabbergasted me and my girlfriend. it sucks you in, eats you up and leaves you yearning for yet another season. Too realistic to be true, ugly cops, pretty cops, gay cops, corrupt politicians, you name it, it's there, just like the real world.

i decided to buy this item because i love the series. it is extremely realistic. for the price listed it was too good to be true.

I got interested in "The Wire" during the first season. I realized that this was something special and I wanted a little piece of it for myself, perhaps to show future generations. I have even thought of how it could be made into a feature movie, etc. Purchasing it on Ebay was cheaper and easier than buying from a big box retailer that didn't have it in stock anyway. Ebay has things like this everyday. I almost don't want to sing the praises too much, because that only creates more bidders, which is competition for me. Just kidding, there are enough "buy it now" listings to get it done in ten minutes. I'm very pleased.
