The Wire - The Complete Fifth Season (DVD, 2008)

The wire has got to be the greatest most real life drama ever made. Evey episode got better and better. The wire really gave you the feeling that you knew the characters and I waited for each new episode to air like a letter from someone that I had not seen in a while. My only complaint about it is that it ended.

A gripping and captivating true to life drama, political wrangling, action... hands down, one of the best TV series ever made! Each season different yet all tied together with Season Five of The Wire pulling everything together. There was nothing we didn't find interesting. For once, the writers, director(s) and producers told a real story without selling out to the gore facination.

Though not for small children, we would definitely recommend this series to all our friends and co-worders!

I never thought they could surpass the four preceding seasons, but then again, why not? the quality of the series just keeps amazing me, it never, never gets boring for a second. always yearning for the next episode, always eager to find out what happens to Bubbles, Omar, McNulty, Bunk, etc. etc. etc.
what a series! I'm very very sorry it really is over after season #5! I guess I'll just have to restart with season 1 (what torture that will be, NOT!)

Excellent, it was definitely the best show on television. There were a lot of surprises and older characters who made guest appearances. This was easily the most shocking season. Must see for fans of the Wire. A++

Movie is in good shape, I am enjoying it. Anyone who knows this series, it is a good one. I bought a different volume from another individuals and I had to worry about the disk freezing on more than one occassion; not the same with the one, would buy from this individual again

Greatest series ever.

I bought this season because I have all four of the previous seasons. And year five is arguably the best of them all. Everything doesn't get tied up in a nice little bow and it leaves you wanting much more.

McNulty is back! If you thought there had not been enough McNulty since the first season -- we'll you're going to love this season. Great new characters. More development of characters from past seasons.

Simply the best season of a TV show I have ever seen in my life. Need to watch the first four seasons to fully enjoy though as many things tie in and there are a few references every episode to past seasons that wouldn't be fully enjoyed without viewing all the shows. I bought it on EBay, saved $15 off the MSRP, then resold it for the same amount!
