The Wall - Pink Floyd (CD 2000
Review created: 06/09/09

The question is, "What do you like, love, or dislike about it? Why did you decide to buy it?" Answer: It's The Wall. A good aunt will purchase that for her nephew.

What can I say? I was born in this era so I think this is awesome. Stands WAY out from anything else.....Has it's own little niche. Lots of hits on this CD.

I do not like or dislike anything about this CD. My thirteen year old grandson wanted it, so therefore, I bought it for him. He loves it.

  MASTERPIECE

The music is amazing, if you like Pink Floyd, although a-typical for the band~ but, what WAS typical for P. Floyd? It's an Opera, in the sence that it is a story, but a very importamt piece of Musical History, and written to tell the story of Roger Water's life. An amazing piece of artwork!!

  Tearing Down The Wall
Review created: 11/21/06

Pros:
A magnificent novelty, and a glimpse at the source of teenage power and glory.

Cons:
It's hard not to pay a little attention to the man behind the curtain.

When I was little, The Wall was the album that all my older sisters and all of my friends' older brothers and sisters had. It was an object of wonder and mystery. Like a bong stored underneath the bed (what's that thing for, he'd ask), or a contraband Betamax copy of Porky's, The Wall was a dark and powerful talisman of teenagerhood at a time in my life when teenagers were Olympian gods - the massiveness of its gatefold sleeve, the violence of its cartoon artwork on the inside, and the creepy chanted verse of "Another Brick in the Wall" - we don't need no thought control - which Brian Gibne,..

  Think Pink: The Wall

Before Alice Cooper howled about school being out forever and well before Dead Prez put in their two cents in the song, They Schools , there was one band that started it all: Pink Floyd. The lyrics, We don t need no education / We don t need no thought control , stick out in my mind as being the best lyrics written on the subject. But there were other things the band was known for. Throughout the seventies, Pink Floyd had been the in thing alongside similar bands like Led Zeppelin and The Who, releasing such classics as Meddle and The Dark Side of the Moon . But The Wall , in my eyes, is the.

Pros:
Awesome voyage of self-discovery

Cons:
Occasionally a little bleating.

My acquaintance with Pink Floyd and The Wall began about six months ago. A French friend of mine raved about it, and lent me the video of the film (the double-album being officially the film's soundtrack). Noting the involvement of great cartoonist Gerald Scarfe I eagerly started the tape and watched the first few minutes. Unfortunately, it was a French video cassette, and was thus rendered in less than impressive black and white. I took a look at a shot of someone swimming in what was probably supposed to be a swimming pool of blood and thought: 'Nah. This isn't going to do it justice.' Then.

Pros:
Good musicianship, quality lyrics

Cons:
Waters takes all the credit

Some of you guys know how much of a Pink Floyd fan I am (despite the fact I did not like the movie Pink Floyd: The Wall, and so being the natural Pink Floyd fan I am (after being forced by friends to get it), I decided to purchase this album. I've already heard Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here and both of those were simply amazing. If you don't know who Pink Floyd are, then I don't know what planet you're from (I'm only kidding!). To those who don't know, basically they're one of the best bands to ever walk on this planet. If you want proof, read the review. Despite the fact...

"It's just another brick in the wall..."
Review created: 10/20/04
by: seanb91 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Brilliant lyrics, David Gilmour

Cons:
A bit too wordy at times

So, here we go with my first ever review on any review site, ever. I bought this album for 50p in a charity shop (along with U2's Zooropa), because I quite liked Dark Side of the Moon, though I thought it was a bit overrated. I listened to this album when I got home, and the first thing I noticed was how much better I thought it was than anything else by Pink Floyd I'd heard. Ever since then, I listen to this album whenever I can. This album is about an imaginary rock star (imaginatively named Pink Floyd!) who builds a wall around himself to separate himself from the world. This album follows.
