The Traveling Wilburys Collection [CD & DVD] by Traveling Wilburys (CD, Jun-2007, 2 Discs, Rhino Records USA)

I picked up a new, unused version of the re-release of the Traveling Wilburys with the two CDs and the DVD for $27 or $28 bucks on eBay, and I so happy that I did. Here are five of the all time greatest artists and performers that there ever were and what a sound they made together. No one will ever duplicate the wonderful voice of Roy Orbison and George will always be remembered as a Beatle, though many of his best works were for charities and solo accomplishments. Its a crying shame that they are gone now, but their musical abilities combined with Bob, Tom and Jeff as well as the other artists involved will live on forever.

The Traveling Wilburys reminds me of the days of the great Beatle hit albums and how they competed with the Rolling Stones for the best album on the charts for a period of several years. That was a breathtaking time it was as we all anxiously awaited the release of the next masterpiece of a day long gone now. But we have the Wilburys to take us back!

A couple of years ago I won tickets, airfare and hotel accommodations for my wife and I to fly to Dallas to attend Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Concert held in the Cotton Bowl. There were over thirty acts performing there including Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Santana, ZZ Top, John Mayer, Jonny Lang and so many more that it made my head spin. Wow, what a concert! Three days of some of the best Blues musicians around today. The days were warm and the Blues were wonderful.

Just as the Wilburys are today with their immense variety of talent and the various backgrounds they all came from, they came together and amazed us all with new music that only the five of them together could ever create. This dual CD set and the DVD will be the highlight of my musical collection for years to come. I can't praise the five Wilburys enough. I highly recommend that anyone who ever loved the music of the Beatles, the wonderful lyrics of Bob Dylan, the one of a kind voice of Roy Orbison, the versatility of Tom Petty and Jeff Lynn had better get their hands on a copy of this dual CD set with the DVD while they still can. eBay is probably your best bet as the seller I won my brand new set from was auctioning several new copies.

One more pitch for Tom Petty. I attended one of his concerts a couple of years ago and I was on my feet through the entire concert! What a versatile performer he is, and so entertaining. His live performance sounded just like his songs do on the radio or on my stereo. Its easy to see how he would fit in with the Wilburys and be a positive influence on the group as well.

I saw the Stones back in 1967 when they were on their way to the top and the Doors when Jim Morrison could still standup on stage. And Clapton was superb in Dallas, but the Wilburys are pieces of many top groups and soloists over the years and I don't think that they will ever be forgotten as long as there are still a few of us around that love good music.

This was one of those IMPOSSIBLE-to-find collections. Tried every used music store in the metro area and beyond - no longer available. So when I saw this CD set one day prior to the new release / re-issue date, I jumped on it. It's a collection of several legendary artists working together to create songs of their own. Highly recommend this one! Very enjoyable.

Fantastic album with most of the best in the music business. What a fabulous deal at $10 and change - includes two full CD's and a DVD!

Great music from a great collaboration of musiacl artists. I was partial to the first cd with Roy Orbison, but both are enjoyable. Nice easy listening of a great blend of voices.

If you are a true Wilbuy fan, you can not miss this one. This 2 CD/1 DVD pack is a must for your library. All of the favorites are there plus some bonus'. You won't be disappointed.

Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty, George Harrison. Put them together and you have this, one of the greatest groups of all time. The music here takes on alot of variety and every song has one thing in common, they all rock. This album was named one of the top 100 rock albums of all time by Rolling Stone Magazine, because it is. The new tracks "Runaway" and "Nobody's Child" will be rewinded and replayed for at least a week. This is what music should be like.

I'm fun of G.Harrison (ant all good music) and I can't find The Traveling Wilburys in the shop in Europe. My friend told me: You have ebay. I found more proposition, but this one give me vol 1 & 3 and special DVD in one box. The CD are in very good condition but box is little damaget. Thats all.

You can't go wrong with these guys. As single artists, they're great! Together, they're magic. Some of the younger crowd may not recognize some of the names, but you recognize their voices as soon as you hear them. Just give it a listen and it will become a favorite.

This has been the best get together of artists that I can remember or think of. The music is just fun to listen to and is very uplifting. The DVD is an added bonus that shows how much fun they had making the music and videos. Being a practicing musician myself it is inspirational on many levels. You can't go wrong with these in your music collection.

You just gotta love a combination of the late great(s) George Harrison, Roy Orbison and then living greats Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty and Bob Dylan. When you listen, although you aren't in the kitchen or patio improvising with them--you get the feeling you are. You just wanna be there and in a sense you are.

I think they were jamming for fun which makes the album(s) video so unique.

Supergroups are tough because the members usually come across as holding back or trying too hard. The Traveling Wilburys somehow escaped this trap (for the most part) and because of it they are by far my favorite Supergroup. That said, I still enjoy the work of each individual artist here better.

This is a beautiful set, well packaged, and well priced. I know people who were paying $50.00 each for these CDs before this reissue. 4 Stars.

Purchased this as a surprise for my husband. He already had the first CD. Easy purchase, no hassles. It was a great gift, but unheknownst to me he had ordered one for himself. No matter, now we have one for the house and one for the car.

I love that this product offered me a DVD with the CD as well. I always listen from time to time the older music of Bob Dylan,Roy Orbison,George Harrison,Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne. I still have albums with alot of these mens music going as far back as the Beatles. My reason for the purchase is simple I love hearing these five artist playing music together. All the music they have recorded and made together is Excelent Music. They are Five great Music Hall of Famers in their own right. Thanks

I bought this on the recommendation of a friend. What a delight. The music is great and the tone is upbeat and fun. The video is wonderful to watch, I smiled through the whole thing. It is especially touching to see Orbison and Hamilton. Try the music in the car on a road trip, makes the time fly.
