Thru-Hiker's Handbook - by Dan Bruce
Having hiked the entire Appalachian trail in 1995 I found Dan Bruce's (wing foots) guide to be invaluable as a hiking long distance tool. It contains all the info needed to determine planning for shelter stops and distances. Grocery and mail locations, as well as the all important places to eat that are always a central thought in any thru-hikers day. Loaded with lots of trail trivia this guide along with ATC maps are crutial for a successful journey. I bought this one to chop up as part of a long overdue scrap book project my wife has started for me. And highly recomend it for any-one planning a section or the trail in its entirety.
