This has been one of my favorite movies since I first checked it out of my local library. I bought it as a gift.

The Tenant of Wildfell Hall: If you loved Jane Eyre, you will like this too. This is another one of those romances where the tension builds until you want to tell them both to find a tavern and let their hair down. There are other characters that you would like to send on a long trip to Antarctica. Then, there are a few with whom you might like to spend an afternoon making pies. Whether you like or dislike the characters, once you figure out who they all are, this 4 part mini-series has all the elements of a great costume show, even if some of the background music is a little creepy. I don't want to spoil the story for you but you will like this show if you like the following: puppies, Toby Stephens, children, painters (art), stone houses, mothers, carriages, outdoor markets, sheep, farmers, mist, horses, interesting hairdos, dogs, moorland. You will like this show if you dislike the following:hunting parties, alcohol, pig roasts, prejudice, gossip, sheep. I give this one five fingers. (Out of five and a half)

  Good Movie
Review created: 11/09/09

The Tenant of Wildfell Hal was not as interesting and capturing as “Weathering Heights” by Anne Bronte, she was the actual reason why I wanted to see this movie in a first place, but after watching it for a while, it was getting interesting from the part where the story begins about her husband. It was passionate, dramatic and engaging. I definitely recommend watching this moving

Found the story a little disappointing -- not nearly as great as Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights. Don't know what a difference it would have made if the film was made in USA as the others.

Not a film I would bother to watch again -- just couldn't compare with Charlotte or Emily Bronte's masterpieces.
