Called "the most misunderstood book in history", John Cross, author of The Stranger on the Road to Emmaus, sets out to explain the message of the Bible in a clear and understandable way. Written chronologically, Cross's book begins with Creation and ends with the crucifixion, tying together key events of the Old Testament and their significance to the New Testament.
Written with wisdom, experience, wit, and humor, this book, with fourteen easy to read chapters, is a wonderful resource for those seeking to understand the Bible or wanting to know it better. This is a down to earth presentation of God's Word, guaranteed to leave any reader, from older children to adults of any age, with a fresh and precise understanding of what the Bible is really all about.
There have been only two books that I have read more than once and this is one of them. Introduced to it four years ago after my husband attended a seminar that presented the book in a teaching setting, I admit I was skeptical. After finally reading it a year later, I had an understanding of the Bible like never before. John Cross once said, "You can't get excited about something and want to share it with others if you don't understand it." Once you read The Stranger on the Road to Emmaus, you will be excited about God's word in a new and fresh way. You will understand it in the same way. And, you'll want to share it with others.
