Top Reviews Review created: 02/06/07 by: 5 of 6 people found this review helpful. I bought this book because I am trying to identify a German composition doll for a friend. Although that doll is not in this book, I found the book to be a worthwhile purchase. It covers German doll making from 1530-2000. I especially enjoy the colored pictures of the old doll factories and learning how they were established and operated. My favorite aspect of the book is the many colored pictures of the beautiful German dolls. The book covers German porcelain, wooden, and papier-mache dolls. The layout is very organized, and there is a comprehensive table of contents and an index. I highly recommend this book if you are interested in the history of German doll making or need to identify a German porcelain, wooden, or papier-mache doll.
