Walking back from our doctor's office my husband and I were holding prescriptions for pills to lower his very high cholesterol and triglycerides levels. Instead of heading to the pharmacy I begged my husband to try the South Beach Diet for six weeks, and not take the prescription pills. I knew of their side effects since I am reading them all the time. My husband is by no means an obese person, he does smoke and he loves to eat anything that is fried and was once alive. So, we made a deal based mostly on a friend who did get excellent results already. Well....we went to the market and purchased what we needed to do the diet. First phase is the most strict yet it is not impossible to survive.
I am happy and proud to report that my husband triglycerides level went from 460 to 109 in only five weeks. His numbers are excellent, he feels younger, stronger, awake, his sleep apnea has improved tremendously, his energy level has increased,his macular degeneration has slowed because of it, and his doctor could not believe the numbers on the new blood tests.
This is certainly a diet for health and happiness and we highly recommend it.
