I think this is an extremely easy and healthy "lifestyle". You notice I don't say diet. It's easy to follow and you are never hungry. You will lose about 7-13 pounds the first 2 weeks and after that about 2 lbs a week. After the initial 2 weeks, you add fruits, whole grains, alcohol, whole grain pasta (I used Dreamfields which tastes better but is still low on the glycemic index). It is also easy to eat any meal in a restaurant. You can have eggs, lean bacon, low-fat sausage, and for lunch, any kind of salad you like (no croutons). Dinner is easy, almost any lean meat, fish or poultry, all veggies except white potatoes, corn and carrots. I usually also have salad for dinner. Actually, just think no white flour or sugar or starchy vegetables and you've pretty much got the concept of Phase II. You can have brown rice, but no white rice. I lost 7# in 2 weeks, my husband lost 13 pounds in 2 weeks. I have since lost an additional 14 pounds on Phase II. Even went on a cruise for a week and didn't gain an ounce. That's a first. Good luck. I know you'll love the book. Follow the rules, don't cheat and you'll get where you want to be.
