Here's a good look at just how fragile the human mind is; and life on the streets for the less fortunate. This is a good read.

  Eye-opening read

This was an amazing book about the power of music, the world of the mentally ill, the life of a street person, and the unlikely friendship of two men. I hear the movie is not much like the book and hope you'll read the book first and then MAYBE see the movie.

My book did arrive in a timely manner. however, I didn't like the fact that I couldn't track it. As I have with previous purchases. Overall though, everything was good and the book was in almost new condition.

  The Soloist
Review created: 03/03/09

This was a "fun" find on Ebay. The book "The Soloist" is obviously a favorite for many, touching, inspirational, brillaint... and has been made into a movie. I can relate through experience with others to the illness Nathanial Ayers suffered and the extreme musical talent he possessed. Also I am somewhat of a book collector. To find an autographed version of this book in such excellent condition was fun. The seller was gracious and sent me a photo of Mr. Lopez (author) at the signing. So this was a special purchase and it makes a wonderful gift.

I wanted to read this book before the movie comes out and I'm very glad that I did. It was a quick read, but no less poignant.
