The Shield - Complete First Season (DVD, 2002)

Vic Mackey is fantastic!

I had never even heard of the Shield until a friend recommended that I take it for a spin... after the first couple episodes, I had already met a large cast of characters, been introduced to many twisting and connecting plots, and become fascinated by the tightly designed / scripted storyline.

Vic Mackey is the star of the show - a cop dedicated to cleaning the streets and serving his community. But the show is filled with great characters and strong acting... The real star of the show though is the storyline which is amazingly addictive.

Other than Lost - a personal favorite of mine - The Shield is my favorite TV show of the past few years. The great thing about the Shield is that it maintains and improves over time. You will enjoy Seasons 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 - other shows struggle with that (ie Nip/Tuck). Do yourself a favor and enjoy Vic Mackey and The Shield!

This is the best show that currently has new episodes airing. I love it. The only thing I didn't like about the show is that there wasn't more episodes.

I bid on this item because it said "Complete First Season" which was not the case. After I received the item in the mail I realized that it was only 1 episode of the First Season. I later reviewed the fine print under the description, which said 3-disc set, and saw that the item was not as it sounded. It was described in 2 diferent ways and I missed the important one. I will read more carefully next time.

I really love the series The Sheild, and since purchasing the first season have purchased seasons two through five. I am still awaiting season fives delivery but overall am enjoying the other episodes.I love the action and the trouble Vic can get in and out of. This is one of my most favorite shows.There is sometimes to much nudity in some of the episodes but overall it is a great show.

I needed to catch up on some missed episodes becuase I was unsure what had happened. I now know whats going on in full.

This Los Angeles Police Department series has a realistic/contemporary storyline. The characters are believeable and their dialogue realistic. I missed it on FX but glad i was able to pick it up here on ebay. VERY entertaining!

I bought all of these season is because I love this show. I wanted to watch the beginning to the end, before the 6th season starts.

WOW!!! This DVD set ROCKS. This has first grade storylines from beginning to the end. The characters and acting is Oscar winning material. Two thumbs up from me for "The Shield."

I have watched Seasons 1-4 of the Shield and let me tell you, this is one enjoyable show. Sometimes you love Vic Mackey, sometimes you hate him and sometimes you just plain understand where he - and the corruption - are coming from. The evolution of Captain Aceveda through the seasons is compelling in and of itself. The trials and tribulations as well as the individual successes of the various characters are wonderfully interwoven throughout the series. I cannot wait to get my hands on Season Five. I'd like to cut a few Vic Mackeys loose on the streets of my city - it would clean up a whole lot of garbage.

I like the movie very much. I am very happy with it and how quickly I received it. This was a great seller.

I generally like to watch the police shows, but really they are all the same.... except for this one. I love the way the show makes you really think about what is acceptable behavior and what isn't. Yeah, the cops are crooked. But is it okay to profit a little as long as you can justify that you are doing some good? Normally I would think I'm a by-the-books straight arrow, but I find myself justifying the illegal activities of these police. Love, love, love this show!

I get the shield very fast and it is a new in plastic(like the seller said before). Moreover it cheeper than buy from store but same quality.

I love The Shield, it's the best cop drama ever put on TV so I had to start collecting the seasons on DVD. Ebay is a wonderful place to gather the things you like at good prices, and it is a little exciting as well. If you like cop shows you will love The Shield, it is gritty, has action, moral dilemas, and a touch of feel good that the bad guys are going to get it no matter what it takes.

It was brand new and exactly what i was expecting! Still in the origional wrapping. I decided to buy it for Christmas for my husband and i saw the seller had good feedback.

What can I say, I love this show. You'll find yourself watching it over and over! I can't wait to watch the last season. Part good cop part bad cop. The first show will leave you w/your mouth open.

If there is any T.V. show that could prove to anyone that they are pushing the limits further each year with ratings, it's The Shield. The first time I watched it, I wasn't considering the fact that I was watching it on television. When I heard Vic using his choice of words, I had to do a double take. His relationship with Dutch boy has got to be one of the best. It would seem that he hates him, yet he respects his detective abilities. You wonder how it can be that there is any way the two of them can get along in any respect. Aceveda.. where do I start? You know that he has it out for Vic from the get go, but the Chief is it on it and therefore he will never be able to touch him in a million years. That doesn't stop him from trying though. All I have to say is, this is a show you have to watch from the beginning to understand the characters and their development. It's well worth the time and the money.

i recently purchased this item and was reall content with what i purchased. What i really loved the condition that it was in, it looked almost new and the casing was in great condition all in its own. Besides that the shipping was in great timing.one other thing is that it was exactly as the discritption said it was that the add measured up to its potential.

Do you like Rambo First Blood? Do you like Dirty Harry? If you answered yes then you will love VIC Mackey. Hard hitting from scene 1. If you don't like this then you are on your knee's with Asavada but you like it. Anyone that say anything different is watching dancing with the stars, with some scented candles lit, listening to Josh Groban. STRIKE HARD STRIKE FIRST

Everything came on time and in good condition. Almost through the whole season and not issues with damage to the disks.

One of the best shows on TV ever. Dirty cops with good arrest results. It's what real life is all about. You can do good or bad but usually it's always both.

this is a great show. this dvd set is the first season and it starts off with a bang. i dont thibnk there has ever been a police drama series as good as this one. i highly recommend it to anyone who likes realistic police action. it is reasl world corruption and deals with the sick situatons that happen in society today.

We just decided to start watching The Shield and Started with season one. We are now on season 3 and are hooked! I dont remember enjoying a show more. If you like to be shocked, amazed, & disgusted, This is the show for you
