The secret crap

The secret of this waste of your life, is that if you believe strong enough you will obtain wealth, happiness, and quite possibly Global Domination, etc... If you believe in positive thinking then I guess this junk is just right up your alley, but if you do then you shouldn't need this book anyway... right??? Personally I believe that magical thinking such as this is a great way to kill valuable time, But again if your into self delusional thinking then go right ahead and buy it.
I honestly could not bring myself to finish this book, it was so unquestionably redundant, you probably only need to read the first 20 pages and be done with it, unless you enjoy reading about how different people can re-state the same concept over and over again. Sure I agree with the idea that positive thinking can be powerful and life changing, but in no way does this guarantees that you will be filthy rich, and just to add insult to injury I absolutely loath books that use science improperly and out of context. I don't think that Newton's 1st law was intended to be translated into some money making scheme. The Author's attempts at using scientific laws in their claims would come across as completely absurd to anyone with some background knowledge in science.
The contents of this book have been continually covered by 1000's of other books. This is basic metaphysics 101 packaged with a great title and a well produced CD. I for one prefer the writings of Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Ernest Holmes, Napolean Hill and Norman Vincent Peale in this genre of books.
The secret is one of the worst books my friend has ever forced me to attempt to read. It simply makes no sense and can be easily disproved. For those of you who don't know the secret is that if you imagine something it will come true and if you really really believe it, then it is bound to happen. So if you really want to fly simply imagine your self floating above the ground, picture it and convince yourself that this is really happening and one day out of the thin blue sky you will start to fly...oh wait or you might just be delusional and nothing will happen.
If the headline wasn't enough then please allow me to respectfully expand my opinion on what this book is: It's garbage at the basis!
Overall it's message is enough to make an intelligent individual ill in it's poorly worded and put together effort at selling you hope for $ 19.95! It constantly begs the question that if the author means so well in sharing this new found message of hope and charity, that we may all one day live better lives having learned this secret, then Why is she selling this at twenty bucks a Pop? Hasn't all of her positive thinking left her rich enough? Quite frankly, the book is a bit ludicrous, and it has been so highly touted that it only serves to show the sad state of the world we live in. This book is nothing more than quotes from other books and writings from other author's. The whole concept of thinking that great things will come your way by mere wishful thinking is rubbish. If you want something you have to go out and get it! This is clearly nothing but a waste of paper and ink. A disappointment at best. Although it had a few good pointers it was preposterous in many respects. I would love to see some documentation on how the secret managed to restore someones eyesight or cured cancer maybe it's the patients fault though according to byrne's they are not wishing it hard enough right? Ha-Ha! Read Wayne Dyer
