I bought this book to share with my 5 Grandaughters. When I made the purchase, I was hoping it would arrive in a timely manner, it would be a fairly clean copy with no missing pages, and that I would not have to pay more than I would pay at the local discount book store.

Within 7 days I received this wonderful copy of "The Secret Garden", the Author Francis Hodgson Burnett, and Illustrated by the brilliant Tasha Tudor. The condition of the book was fantastic, it looked to be practically brand new, and I paid a fraction of what this book would have cost at a bookstore.

I learned of this book by visiting a local Toy and Miniature Museum. The exhibit was featuring Tasha Tudor, this particular copy was part of the display. The pages of this book are just beautifully kept. The Illustrations are presented in a way that it satisfies your imagination at the perfect time while reading. The book is also written in a way that makes you flip from page to page with curiosity.

I have been searching for this book, outside of Ebay, for almost a year. I felt it was important that I actually see the condition before buying, as I would be handling this book with my Grandchildren. With Summer closing in, I looked on ebay. It did take me a couple of weeks to find a Seller that I thought I could trust, and was selling at a price I could compete with.
Honestly, I could not be happier with the purchase of this book, the transaction met all my expectations. Iam "picky" when it comes to my Grandaughters, so that really says alot. Now I can rest knowing that I finally found that wonderful book. It is tucked in the bookshelf, and waiting for the Summer visit at Grandma's.

THANK YOU!!!!!

I love the story of 'The Secret Garden' and I love this hardback edition, which is why I had to buy it. The illustrations are enchanting! Every chapter has an illustration and inserted pictures within the chapter are as big as the page and in color.

A lovely story about the power of the human spirit.

The Harper Collins 1962 edition of F. H. Burnett's "The Secret Garden" has become a classic in children's literature. The story line is sure to enthrall children and their parents. Tasha Tutor's illustrations are delightful. It takes a bit of patience to wade into the lexicon of 1911 British society, but the reward is worth every bit of effort.

The tale of a difficult young orphan and her reclusive cousin captures the interest of children and adults alike. Who can resist these very human characters who display the entire realm of human emotion and behavior. These are not PollyAnna's who believe the whole world to be good and true. They are orphans on the most basic level, both motherless and fatherless. The reader identifies with their cynical view of life, and celebrates their embrace of all that life holds for the future. At its heart, "The Secret Garden," is a story of death and rebirth. It explores the essence of human nature, the good and the bad, the ugly and the beautiful. I recommend it to anyone who has ever felt lost in the world.
