The Protector is the fourth of a series of books by Henderson called the O'Malley series. The O'Malley's are 7 brothers & sisters that are not actually blood related. Being orphaned they eventually wound up together in one foster home. The series continues with one of the siblings being the main character in each, with the others intertwined in the stories. This book features brother Lieutenant Jack O'Malley firefighter extraordinaire. Jack is facing the biggest challenge of his career with an arsonist on the loose in his district. Too intensify he situation Cassie the woman Jack loves, and a fellow firefighter, is witness to one of the arsons & may be in danger as it seem she may actually know the arsonist. Now Jack has become the protector of the woman he will do anything to save. We are introduced to his friend Cole Parker, who is his sister Rachel's boyfriend. Learn more about them in book #5! I LOVE DEE HENDERSON'S BOOKS. I THINK I HAVE READ ALL IN THE O'MALLEY SERIES NOW. SOME OF THEM ARE BETTER THAN OTHERES, BUT HER BOOKS ARE ALWAYS GOOD.

Once again, Dee Henderson comes through with more on the O'Malley series. Personally, I found this series and the prequel, Danger in the Shadows, to be the best of her books. The characters were interesting, believable and real-to-life. We all have struggles and you can honestly feel the main characters troubles and rejoice with him. I've read this series over and over and am always glad I did.

Dee Henderson offers something for everyone -- men and women alike -- decent fiction that is ALSO meaty fiction and nothing -- absolutely nothing -- like the olden day "Christian Fiction" -- which leaned toward sappy sweet and boring. Try ONE O'Malley and you will want them all. Its fun to read them in sequence but not necessary.

This book in the O'Malley series is one of the sweeter ones I think because it's about Jack. Jack is such a kid at heart and his girl-friend is so sweet. You just can't help but love the both of them. Their story is definately one to be read.

She's a great writer in terms of character development. The book is not really believable, but it is sweet and very easy to read. The book is engaging; you feel like you are part of the O'Malley family.
