This is a great book from John Piper. He uses scripture for the reasons why Christ came and died for us and also explainning in his own words. This is must have. It's easy to understand what he is saying and some books I can't always understand but here I can and I want to share each week with my life group each reason and read more often. Bible is the #1 source though. The Passion of Jesus Christ is recommended. The only reason why I didn't give it 5/5 because only the Bible is excellent and worth more than 5/5.

deep thoughts on a deeper SubjectThis is a great little book about a massively important subject. The Apostle Paul said, in relation to ministry in decadent Corinth, "I determined to know nothing among you, except Jesus Christ and Him crucified." John Piper probes into what Jesus Christ crucified means and he does a great job. Read Paul's words, ponder them, feed on them, live them, and let Piper help you.

John Piper does it again with a warning: If you don't want a deeper walk with Jesus Christ careful set the book down and walk away, But if you want a deeper walk with Christ Jesus it is a hard book to put down and a cant miss book and a blessing to read.

This is indeed one of my all time favorite books. It goes very deeply into the scripture and explains things in a way that makes it easy for anyone to understand. The entire book is scripturally based which was very important to me in knowing that it was not just John's words describing it, but it was also God's word describing it.
I recommend this book to anyone who wants to know more about who Jesus Christ was, and why he was crucified on the cross for you.

I love this book, I've been reading it a lot that past few weeks. I actually just read some this morning before I went to work. It's nice to see various reasons why the Lord came and what He accomplished by doing so. You will learn a lot from this book...God Bless!
