The book is an excellent book for managers. I was told that I should read it by my mentor, and she was right. It is the best management book that I have read.

The authors also wrote, "Who Moved My Cheese" which spurred my interest in this book. The ideas presented are transferable and applicable to any person, not just managers. the book itself is in good condition except the whole thing is written in. i love the book though it is an excellant peice of wisdom.

This is a great book. I bought it for my wife whose manager recommended that she read it to help her as a supervisor. I read it to. This was a smooth and simple transaction.

It will take you more than one minute to follow his ideas,but I really like keeping the ideas in mind esp. at work. There sometimes I have to start or stop someone from doing or not doing something and the book did give me a better way to do this with far less friction. I know it sounds corney but I have tried it at work since I purchased it and it has helped me on several occasions. My co-workers were really surprised when I went to shake hands with them after I had just spoke my mind and stuck out my hand to shake theirs. They didn't know it I was lost or what. They ask me and I told them where I got the idea. They now try to shake hands with me when WE try to make out work more productive and less hard and stressful. Thank You Barbara Jackson

This is a VERY thin book, told in almost a fairy-tale style. It has large type and very short chapters -- The kind of book you can sit down and read completly in about an hour or less. It is an easy read, and the theories posed in this book do seem fairly sound, but what it does not address is how to deal with really difficult or beligerent subordinates, which is something I was hoping to get a different viewpoint on (other than my own!). The book keeps a "glass half full" type of motivational thinking which, in my opinion, does not always actually work in the real world. I've worked with some very determined, stubborn and difficult people who would have laughed off the entire premise of this method of managing people. That said however, I would also suggest anyone in management to give it a read. I do not feel it is the be-all, end-all of management books; it is far from it. But, it *does* help to be well rounded and open minded about differing management styles and I can easily see various scenarios where something like this might be an effective tool over some some employees. Read and judge for yourself! It's available here on ebay for very little money, and it won't take you long to read it.

This book was given to me as a first time manager back in 1996, I found it to be easy reading and offered great help in my new role. I purchased this for one of my mentees who has been moved into a managers role. She was nervous about the new job and this book really seems to have helped her.

I recieved the book in good time, I bought the book to give to my managers I already have a copy and enjoyed it.
