The Nine Lives of Fritz the Cat (2001, DVD)

This is a x- rated cartoon for those of us that remember fritz the cat from the 70's it was fun to watch again. recommended for old fritz the cat fans a good laugh.

This is one movie,I'd been searching for, for years.Finally found it! I remember when this movie first hit the theaters, it wasn't rated, and nobody knew what to make of it.This movie bring back a lot of memories,about that time and, I'm happy to have it.It's a great movie.

For those of you that haven't seen "Fritz the Cat", I would say, like most sequels, that "The Nine Lives of Fritz the Cat" was average compared to the first one. I did enjoy the movie, it was the same animation with that particularly gritty 60s and 70s feel. I love the way the characters are portrayed as animals!! Very funny movie, not for the faint of heart, or those who would question the direction of the plot.

I recently made a purchase from this seller. I left Neutral feedback. He didn't seem to happy about this. I didn't see what the big deal was, but after a little research I figured out why he was upset. So I'm putting this review in to correct my errors. Overall my experience with this seller was great. Things couldn't have gone smoother. I've done a little homework and I realize purchasing on ebay isn't like placing an order with a magazine company or something of a similar nature. There are reputations to be maintained and I offer my appologies to this seller as well as all of the sellers I may have left uninformed feedback messages with.

I bought it because I liked the original "fritz the cat." which of course was much better, I would like to have a copy of it. Dean

The sequel to 1972's FRITZ THE CAT, NINE LIVES catches up with Fritz post-college and married. Director Ralph Bakshi continues to use the animated cat as a vehicle for satire and out and out comedy.

Fritz is unhappily married and smokes marijuana to escape into his imagination about what his other eight lives may have been like. Since FRITZ THE CAT, Fritz has degenerated to the point where his main concerns are collecting a welfare check and constructing overblown sexual scenarios in his head. From incest to political satire to space and religion, his adventures run the gamut of scathing social commentary by Bakshi, often using violence, sex, and debauchery to illustrate Fritz's demise as not only a citizen but as a human being with little interest in life as he knows it.

NINE LIVES continued in the vein of groundbreaking animation Bakshi started with in FRITZ THE CAT, and surely had an influence on successful animated comedies today, such as THE SIMPSONS and SOUTH PARK
