Since the recent death of my husband, I have been on a renewed search for spirituality. A friend started me on Sylvia Browne's books. This book was on the top of my list after I first heard of it. All my life I had certain belief's about our spiritual selves along with many "unconventional belief's" regarding religion and the life of Jesus Christ. What Sylvia transcribes in her book from her spirit guides and her own psychic abilities, was right on with my own. Many who have very strong attachments to their own religions may have difficulty believing what she has written here. If you keep an open mind and are seeking other truths about our spiritualism and God, this book will enlighten you to seek deeper into our Christian history and real purpose as to why we are here. Sylvia made so much sense to me and confirmed my own personal beliefs of which were always there inside me. Sylvia is always an easy read without a lot of high tech words. You feel you have just listened to a friend and not a famous celebrity. Sylvia is only trying to share her deep knowledge with us before she moves on.

I have several other books of Sylvia Browne and I could not resist to buy this one about Jesus. I never knew that the bible was written/put together almost 300 years after his death. I also never heard of his "lost years" before. They don't seam lost to me. He accepted other believes and learned from them. Because in the end there is only ONE god, no matter what believe system you follow. The "story" about Jesus dying on the cross for our sins never made sense to me. Him surviving this ordeal makes him so much more human. And I can understand why the church did not (and still does not) want us to know how much influence Marie Magdalene had. So all in all I love this book. It brought me closer to god and further away from the catholic church.

Her Jesus is not the Jesus of the Bible. This is what she says. Her "spirit guide, Francine" says that Joseph impregnated Mary and that it was not a virgin birth. She says "We do not hold that Christ was God, nor that he died for our sins nor that he rose from the dead."

It sounds like Sylvia's "spirit guide, Francine" is a lying spirit, It sounds like maybe her "spirit guide" is actually a demon. What does Sylvia Browne's church Novus Spiritus believe? Well for one they believe in multiple gods (Polytheistic), the main ones being Om - the Father God, and Azna - the Mother God. They also believe that Jesus did not die on the cross, that He married Mary Magdalene, who escaped to France. They believe that Jesus died about the age of 86.

As you can see, she is not a Bible believing Christian. She is deceived herself and is trying to deceive others.

Sylvia Browne has come up with fantasy and managed to pawn it off on alot of uninformed people as truth. She quotes the Bible, but totally twists the meaning of what the Bible says.
She is a pyschic and the Bible clearly states to stay away from pyschics and mediums. She mixes a little truth with alot of falsehood and outright lies. She believes in reincarnation, which the Bible does not teach.
Some psychics use a method called cold or warm readings to make people believe that they are getting information about a dead person.

Cold readings are where they make an educated guess about something about you, buy picking up clues, by what you say or do, or your appearance or age. If you tell them the information is wrong, they use a number of ways to distract you, for example some will tell you that they are getting information from a "playful" spirit that tells them false things, etc..... warm readings are where they have microphones in the studio before their show and they listen in, as people talk to friends that have come with them about deceased friends or relatives, and then they pick those people in the audience that they listened in on and use that information to make those people and others think they are getting a message from a spirit.

A book that exposes the New Age, that I recommend is by Johanna Michaelsen. Her book "The beautiful Side of Evil and "Like Lambs to the Slaughter", expose alot of these lies.

I pray for Slvia Browne, because I know God loves her and everyone, but He doesn't want any of us to be deceived and that is what she is doing.

I give this book a poor rating. Don't waste your time on it.

This book was very interesting and hard to put down. In typical Sylvia tradition, she explains the years from Jesus birth thru his public ministry and beyond the crucifixion. In my heart I always knew there was more than what was taught in catholic grammar school, vacation Bible school and the Bible. This book explains it all and it makes so much sense. For everyone who goes around saying their God is the best, it all comes together. I highly recommend this book.

I bought this book b/c i am interested in reseraching all takes on Jesus' life. This book may shock a lot of people, but i've read many of Sylvia Brownes books and i believe in a lot of what she says. Even if you dont believe all of it, i think you can take bits and pieces and at least realize the common story of Jesus that we all blindly believe may not be what really happened. Read this book with an open mind and I think it will bring you closer to the man we call Jesus.

I bought it because i have always wondered what Jesus was all about. I was raised Catholic, but have a difficult time believing that he was the son of God. I always believed he was a great man, doing God's work. This book reconfirmed what i've always felt in my heart. Her books resonate with me, they truly "feel right" in regards to how things are in the afterlife, and our history here.

I did not like the book at all. I feel that Sylvia's insights on the life of Christ are false, and left me with an overall bad feeling. After purchasing at least 10 of her books, this one will be my last!

I am very interested in the spiritual aspects of life, and I have enjoyed reading several of her publications; a few were a little disappointing, as the animals on the other side and Christmas in Heaven..just short explanations..I enjoy the adventures os psychic and Mystical life of Jesus and the dream series.. I enjoy finding specials on ebay; am disabled and cannot get to go shopping much; ebay was a great shopping experience..

My mother is an avid listener of Sylvia Browne on the Montel Williams show each week. As a perfect Christmas gift I chose Sylvia's books for her reading pleasure.

  Should be required reading!
Review created: 07/27/08

This book should be required reading for the entire human race! Whether you are a Christian, a former Christian, or pretty much anyone curious about this man called Jesus, please read this book. Sylvia not only fills in the blanks on the years we are not told about, she clears up confusion about the ones we ARE told about. She delves into facts about the rewriting and editing of the bible, proof about Jesus' whereabouts before his ministry and so much more! Some of her info comes from her spirit guide Francince, but most of it comes from historical documents, and common sense.

For those who are afraid to read this book, and I know some people are, why be afraid? Sylvia does not question the basic faith, if anything (if you can read the book with an open mind) she strengthens one's faith potential. She does not try to tear down Christianity, the belief in Christ. All she is doing is trying to right some wrongs done to all of us when some people thought themselves fit to rape our scriptures and steal our history. Most of these things are not her opinions, ideas, etc. Much of this book (as I mentioned earlier) is based on facts readily available in historical texts.

You DO NOT NEED to defend the writers (mostly, if not entirely, unknown) and editors of the accepted (and incomplete) books of the bible in order to be a Christian. Christianity is about Christ and God, not about church leaders' political and financial advancements. Or at least it should be. Contrary to what appears to be a common belief, you CAN believe in Christ and God without believing the lies many churches have fed us over the years.

This book will inform you, and move you. Highly recommended!

Good book.. Mystical life??? not too sure!
Review created: 11/04/09

I like that it has scientific facts to most of the statements.
Love how outrageous and fascinating it is and how it gives some answers to the most common questions about God, Jesus and the ancient times dated in the bible.
I dislike the fact that not all statements have scientific or congruent facts to support it!
I decided to buy this book to have knowledge of another prospective of the most debated story in history.

Highly Recommended For The Lost or Confused
Review created: 01/31/09

I love this book. Sylvia/the book has completely changed my perceptions and altered beliefs (by my own will). I used to ask questions about the Bible and Jesus. The things that didn't make sense. But after reading this she has left little room for more questions. This book helps you determine what you believe in and I think that is very important. It's relatable, understandable, and above all, IT MAKES SENSE!!! Things in the Bible can be so confusing, but this book really helped me find answers and it raised me up spiritualy to a place that I am comfortable at. Before, I couldn't understand things, but this has helped me come to my own conclusions. Thanks Sylvia, and it's nice to have almost everything backed up by facts. ~Heather~
