The Message, starring Anthony Quinn as Hamza, is a Movie that was done back in the 1970's and was visionary in its making. All efforts are made to respect the ways of Islam my not showing the prophet Muhammad in any physical form. It is the true story of Muhammad, and the start of Islam. It can give a person a new understanding on Islam, and hopefully people will view it with an open mind and try to understand a very misunderstood and mis portrayed religion. Wonderfully and tastefully done. Good actors!

I think this movie gives insight to a misunderstood faith. It was very well made. Very tasteful and noncontraversial.

This is to appreciate the great work of Mostafa Akkad who was brave enough to make a superb movie about Prophet Mohammad. His movie is so great that after 30 years is still remembered and appreciated.
I hope someone will follow his step to disillusion the image of Islam and our beloved prophet Mohammad (peace is with him ,in him, he is the peace itself).

its my religon. it talks about how it all came together, and helped our religon be todays fastest growing in the world. . .

The movie is correct historicaly. I think this is a great way for young children to learn about the history of Islam's beginnings.

I like this movie because its almost the first/last and only movie about Islam.
I also like the fact that there is two discs, one has the English version and the other has the Arabic one.
Moreover, I need this movie because I teach Arabic and talk about Islam a lot so this is something I can share with students and people in general.
The only thing I dislike about it is that having no subtitles in the Arabic version; I like the acting in the Arabic version more than the English one besides the Arabic one is longer so I'd love to see a copy someday that has subtitles.

Anthony Quinn stars in this wonderful story of Islam. It is how I first learned about the religion and the culture. I found it quite interesting and well informed. I am glad Hollywood decided to reissue this classic in DVD form and I would highly recommend it to non-Muslims (like myself) to learn more about the culture. AAA+++

An abosolute must watch movie. It is an eye opener for all those who would like to glimpse into the world of Islam. It shows the compassion, the mercy, and the love of people; all that Islam truly stands for. It is one of the best movies of all time and has superb performances by all the actors. An excellent portrayal of a time long gone.

This is the story of prophet Mohammed whose images are not shown out of respect towards the Islamic religion. The film contains spectacular scenery and a superb performance by the late Anthony Quinn who had handled many ethnic roles in the past so brilliantly in films like Lawrence of Arabia with Peter O'Toole, Viva Zapata with Marlon Brando and The Shoes of Fisherman with Sir Lawrence Olivier, to name a few. A must seen for the Quinn fans.

i was assuming that muslims were sick and terrorist people but after i watched the movie now i like muslims more and i realized that everything i heard on news channels was not true. i also read quran recently that it is so clear and understandable. it is slightly different than our bible which i was questioning about why there were so many bibles and they keep on changing it. i kind of started thinking if we both believe in the same god why not god send jesus as prophet instead of his son since he never sent his son before to the other nations. why god waited 10 thousand years to send his son. what people worshipped before jesus, jesus or the god who created adam and eve. now i started questioning more.

What a great story! So many people don't understand how Islam came to be and what it means to be a Muslim. I recommend this to everyone!

the only movie that tells all about Islam ,truly tells the story of this great religion, a religion of peace, love and degnity.

I purchased this dvd for my son who started to show interest to learning arabic and enjoying it. he told me that he never got bored of it and every time he watched it he learned new terms, and new history information that he was never exposed to. this book opend a new window for learning a new culture and language and every detail of it worths a million, my son thinks. i always encourage my kids to explore the world beyond their school curriculum, and discover the truth of other cultures and history. my younger kids are really enjoying what their bother is telling them about what he watched and read from other books he bought associated with this dvd. and he also enjoys translating all what he is able to translate from that interesting movie. i really recommend this movie to every school library.

I seen this when I was younger, now that im older its even that much better. This is a must see for all the people that dont understand Islam and the prophet Mohammad. Also, was really surprised that the english and arabic version are two diffrent productions rather than dubbing engilsh over arabic.
