I liked the Bible how it breaks the words down to understand better, but I thought it was the whole Bible, what happened to the old testament? I thought I was purchasing the whole Bible, I was disappointed about that, but other than the missing old testament, it was good!

I decided to buy this book because I liked reading the contemporary translation. I was however disappointed that it is only the New Testament.

Not clearly labled"The Message" is a great Bible, but this is a very poorly labled product because I, too, thought I was buying a complete Bible - not just the New Testtament with Psalms & Proverbs. I was VERY disappointed not to get the whole Bible and found the description to be deceptive.

The Message is the bible written in every day language.
) I love the way it brings the message of the Bible to us in language that anyone could understand. It has opened scripture in a new way helping me to understand that God's message is not complicated but a simple message of his love for us with out all the thees and thous of the KJV. I bought it on a wim or by God's leading not sure which but and so thankful I did. I have since bought it for several members of my family and friends hoping they will get as much out of it as I did.

It's a great companion to your regular Bible to make verses stand out in the language of today and bring some that we have trouble understanding in to the light for a better grasp of the word.
This is the New Testament with Psalms & Proverbs and very handy, although I'd like to get the entire Bible in this form to compare how the often hard to understand Old Testament is made easier to follow. I wouldn't trade the traditional Bible but this is a great help in interpreting some of the harder to comprehend verses.
I highly recommend it as a tool to get a better perspective of God’s word.
