The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown (2009, Hardcover)

I purchased The Lost Symbol because I have read Dan Brown's two previous novels with the Robert Langdon character and found them very exciting. Like Angels & Demons and The Da Vinci Code, The Lost Symbol held my interest the whole way through from start to finish. If you are intrigued by the Freemasons and their secrect world, this book is for you. I bought this book because I also bought, The Da Vinci Code, and Angels and Demons. Dan Brown is a novelist who grabs your attention at the start and holds your interest right up to the end of the story.I now have new feelings for the places he writes about in his books because,I have been to many of the places as a tourist. Dan Brown is extraordinaire, as a gifted writer. I have yet to find anyone who can hold my attention the way he can. I look forward to his next book.

While reading this, I found myself thinking, "Get on with it already." In my opinion, not up to the par of his previous books. Still a good read, just not an excellent one.

as always Dan browns work always keeps you in the edge of your seat, you can really get into his books. one warning once you pick up the book its hard to put it down. but like his other work, its dangerous, exciting and intriguing. i suggest that you read this book as well.

Followed the highly anticipated pre-release on the Today show, in talking with a friend who is currently reading it who said " I can't put it down, you've got to get this book "; so I did.

Like most who are reading this, I am a Dan Brown fan. Starting with The Da Vinci Code and continuing on with Angels and Demons, Dan Brown continues with the adventures of symbolist Robert Langdon in The Lost Symbol.
Like his previous Langdon novels, the story takes place in a time span of less than a day and occurs in Washington DC.
Again we have Langdon, with the help of others, stumbling over, and solving many ancient symbols to decode the meaning of them in a race against time.
The storyline centers around the Freemasons and brings into baring the many architectural aspects of the American capitol.
Although I found it not as good a storyline as Angels and Demons, and it certainly will not create the same level of controversy as The Da Vinci Code did, The Lost Symbol is still a welcome addition.
I highly recommended it to anyone who has already read the previous Robert Langdon novels, however, if you are new to Dan Brown, I would recommend starting with The Da Vinci Code and reading the novels chronologically.

I bought this because I bought all Dan Brown's books.This one is good but somehow disappointed.Some unanswered questions, ending is easy.Not the best from author.

The story dragged on and many parts were redundant. The ending was bland. It was a good read but certainly not at par with the other books he's written.

I have paid for the book on september 9th and still have not recieved it. I am upset about this. I have been so anxiousto read this book but I still have not got it. If this is a scam I will file a law suit and press charges on the person that I bought it from if I do not recieve the book very soon.

The Hardcover edition of this book is good and pleased with the fast shipping by the seller. Didn't expect it to come so early.

The book is everything i wanted it to be, shipping was good, sent to my old address buy my fault. Would buy from again.

I have enjoyed this book and only read half of it. It is almost as good as Angels and Demons. The pacing is incredilbe. All the action taking place within 24 hours.

The Lost Symbol was an action packed novel. Great from the start all the way to the finish. Would recommend for anyone interested in the topic, or action/adventures in general.

Perfect Dan Brown! If you like any of his books you will love this one!!! Continue's Robert Langdon's story perfectly!

I like the way Dan Brown writes, this book is very very good, like da vinci code but better. easy to read and interesting all the time. i finished reading it in two days... was really fun. i recommend it, big time!!

I thought the book was very intriguing, just like The Da Vinci Code or Angels and Demons. I definitely recommend it. The only gripe I had about it was its overuse of italics, its almost nauseating.

I read Angels and Demons first, and then I saw the second book as a movie, and then I just got through reading The Lost Symbol. My husband is a 33rd Degree Mason (Scottish Rite), Shriner and Eastern Star member. And I am OES and in other Masonic ladies groups, so this book was very interesting to me especially. It was fast moving and very suspencful. I'm not sure if I like his ending as well as the second book, but all in all, it was very good, especially if your familiar with the Masonic groups.
