It has it's dark side but teaches a valuable lesson for children who may have lost a parent or loved one. Simba is a lovable, sometimes naughty, lion cub who children can easily identify with. The music is wonderful (Elton John/Tim Rice). I purchased this for my five year old grandson & although the 'Scar' scenes made him a little nervous at first, it has become his favorite movie.
