The author conveys that Americans need to return to their democratic roots and ideals. Both domestic and Foreign policy are in disarray under the status quo.

If every American read Andrew Bacevich's book, we'd have a chance to steer clear of the dark chapter in American history that hasn't quite hit us yet. After reading "The Limits of Power", I can truly say I understand, for the first time, why I've felt vaguely disquieted for years now when I look at the path Americans, and America have chosen. There's still time. It's just 182 pages. Your grandchildren will thank you.

Right on the MONEY.It is not what we nor the politicians want to hear, but the author hits the mark !! Easy read. I WROTE IN the author on my ballot as receiving my vote for the 2008 Presidential Election !!

A great book and I would recommend it. We the people could work toward a better tomorrow with a cleaner safer world if people would try and seek the truth out, and hold on to that which is good.

Overall, this is a good intro into the study of US Exceptionalism. The author is intent on being unbiased, however, inevitably there are a few instances of bias and even belligerence.
