The Legend of Zelda is a Fantasy/Adventure game where you play the role of Link as you travel through a fictional land called Hyrule on a quest to save Princess Zelda from the clutches of the evil Ganon. It is famed for being the first game to feature a battery backup save feature. Also, it is the first game to feature a relatively non-linear game play, with the ability to take different paths in order to complete the game.
In this game, you must journey through the land of Hyrule in order to find 9 dungeons. In each dungeon, you are required to solve puzzles and defeat enemies to progress through the dungeon and defeat the dungeon boss. You start out the game with nothing but a wooden sword, and by the end of the game, you will be strong with many possessions. Overall this is by far the best game on the NES and arguably the best game for any system. I would recommend it to any gamer who can appreciate a truly phenominal game.

This is where it all started. I love the original zelda game better then all the rest. I have this on the original nintendo plus for the ds. I can play this game with my eyes closed. I have conquered it so many times that its easy for me now.
The second world they have after you conquer the first, is so hard. I still have to look back to my guide to help me through it. The walk through walls in the triforce levels is very confusing. Plus they make it harder to get life hearts in the beginning. Everything is moved around and hidden in different spots. Its definatly a challenging game but well worth it.
If you not the dragon slaying, bombing or slashing your enemies person, then this game isn't for you.

No other nes title offers this much! Hours and hours of puzzle solvin'FUN! Zelda took gaming to the next level! A milestone! Zelda 2 Adventures of link was the bigest letdown in video game history! Zelda liink to the past for snes is perfect! Get the adventure that started them all The Legend of Zelda! You will not be disapointed. It also will never go down in value as it's a MUST HAVE Title!

I remember playing this game a long time ago. This game started the whole Zelda craze. I thought the fighting parts in this game were very good considering the time this game came out (1987). I highly recommend this game if you feel like taking a journey into the past. A++++++++++

The very first Zelda game was by far the best game for its time and still one of the best games every made now. That first Zelda game started one of the most popular games series ever made. From getting the wooden sword to getting every single heart container, and to finally killing Ganon with the silver arrow, that game unlike others of its time keeps you on the edge of your seat. It is highly recommended in every possible way for every possible catagory!

This is the best game on the NES hands down. You quest all through the kingdom collecting parts of the triforce and rescue zelda. Along the way you get secrets, upgrades, and tons of gear as you eventually seek Gannon. If you havent played this game, you havent lived. I still to this day play the legend of zelda.

If you missed out on the experience to play this game when it was new or you want to relive old memories, this game will not disappoint. This is the game that started it all, and is must for any RPG, Nintendo, Zelda, etc. fan. The game comes in the classic gold edition and the grey cart version. Both are the same and will provide HOURS of entertainment!

This is one of the greatest games of all time. Pick this up and you won't be sorry. This is the game that started the whole franchise and it one of the best games in the series. The only game better was The legend of Zelda a Link to the Past but its close. I also liked Ocarina of time but not as much as these two. Its a classic and I love it. 5 stars!

The first in a ongoing great series of games by Nintendo, this is far by one of best games to stand its time and give the player an epic journey over and over again. you will find many helpful and hidden items plus meet some of the people hiding around Hyrule. The lovely gold cart also adds to the awesomeness of this old game. Anyone who loves Zelda games and has never tried it I would recommend they try it out for their selves, out on NES,GBA,GC and Wii VC but by far the best on its original console the Nintendo Entertainment System!

the legend of zelda is a great classic rpg. i remember spending many hours playing the game.it's one of the few games that my sister alyare plays. it's the father of all zelda games, which good playing, but the orginal is the best. the dungeons is great, the quest to defeat ganon and unite the tri-force.i also love the second challening quest.i love the bosses of the dungeon. it's great to have the oppurtunity to play it again, many times. i would recomened this game to everyone, who loves the zelda and rpg games. if your new to the gaming world, i would also recomened this game. there has been many rpg games over the years, but zelda remains one of the best.
