The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Wii)

Description
Link, a young man raised as a wrangler in a small, rural village, is ordered by the mayor to attend the Hyrule Summit. He sets off, oblivious to the dark fate that has descended upon the kingdom. When he enters the Twilight Realm that has covered Hyrule, he transforms into a wolf and is captured. A mysterious figure named Midna helps him break free, and with the aid of her magic, they set off to free the land from the shadows. Link must explore the vast land of Hyrule and uncover the mystery behind its plunge into darkness.

For Nintendo's long-awaited Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, the designers have split the game into two versions -- one for GameCube, and one specially designed to make use of the Wii utilizing the powers of the Wii controller for all-new ways of exploring Hyrule.

Special Features

  • When Link travels to the Twilight Realm, he transforms into a wolf and must scour the land with the help of a mysterious girl named Midna.
  • The Wii Remote and the Nunchuk controllers are used for a variety of game activities, including fishing, sword attacks and projectile-weapon aiming.
  • Players ride into battle against troops of foul creatures and wield a sword and shield with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers, then take on massive bosses that must be seen to be believed.
  • Many puzzles stand between Link and the fulfillment of his quest, so players must sharpen their wits as they hunt for weapons and items.

      Pros
+ Brings classic Legend of Zelda gaming to a new console with fresh controls & an artistic vision that is simply described as 'beautiful'.
+ Huge boss battles as always.
+ Story telling is getting better even without changing to a dialogue script.
+ Responsive controls & no more button mashing ever

      Cons
      - Graphics could have been pushed a little further (not as much background detail as other next-gen games have. Gives the game a muddy texture feel.)
      - Still no dialogue but the cinematic story telling & character emotions make up for it.
      - Aiming is a little sensitive with the controller (not exactly lightgun accurate).

      Comments
Legend of Zelda has never looked quite so good or been this much fun. Now is a great time to own a next-gen console & this game is the killer app if you own a Wii. Although the graphics are not truly next-gen since this game was originally a Gamecube title, the next-gen controls & gameplay make up for any faults the game may have. I love the soundtrack & the cinematic feel of the game. Horseback riding across miles & miles of open space is a lot of fun as well. This is the same series you have come to know & love but still manages to bring a fresh spin to the world of Link & Zelda.

      Verdict
Must buy for any fan of the series or any Wii owners. Great value for so very many hours of gaming.

This game is great. It is long so it kept me entertained for a long time. The graphics are terrific and very artistic! The control is a little complex therefore hard to remember sometimes, especially after you stop playing for a while. And sometimes the puzzles can also be frustrating. But overall I think it's a good game that's worth playing.

If you are a Zelda fan (My favorite Ocarina of Time) then this is a must have. Awesome graphics. I wish the background was better not really next generation but overall a great game.

I have played Zelda on NES, just like many others. This does not even slightly compare to that old school Zelda. I have not played any Zelda series since atleast 15 years ago.. being said.. as this was on Gamecube.. I am writing my review from the stand point of never playing this on gamecube, and playing it only on Wii. Point said.. this game is good. The controlls are great. The graphics are ok (not comparable to PS3). The content is fun, and kept me playing for several hours.. I do not play game like this, nor RPG's... so being that I did play this one, it had to be good. This game challenged me at times and made me wuit. I bought Paper Mario and sold it within 15 hours "in my other review", because I felt this game was so much better. This game was before the Wii Paper Mario, so you'd expect more out of games after.. wrong. This game was a great launch title in my opinion, and is better than most they are trying to push and produce up to this date.

      Story 10/10

Fantastic. Well done Nintendo. What they accomplished here was great. To sum it up; once again, your a younger link, living in the the village known as Ordan Village. You help out people at a ranch, with your lovely horse Epona. You help out the villagers, and the children of the village. You are expected to become the village chief, and your respected by everyone in the town. Your loved by the children, and they take after you and your skills. You are told by a man in town that you will deliver something to the Royal Castle in hyrule. Your excited, but have to wait 2 days. Then something weird happens. These monkey's come out of no where, and the children go after it. It's Link's job to go after them , and save them. After fighting your way through the Ordan Woods, you make your way to where the Monkey's are being held captive, and you find one of the kids there, captured. You free the good monkey and the child, and return home. You get Epona taken away by one of the children who adore's epona, but finds a wound on her. She won't let Link take Epona to go to Hyrule, but then another child Colin comes and convinces Ilia the child, to let Link take epona. But then out've no where.....a monster on a giant boar comes out've no where and attacks the youth. You get hit by the monster, and then your about to become unconscious, and see Colin, and Ilia swept off by the monster...into the Twilight Zone. You then wake up in the twilight zone, as a wolf, and as the hero of hyrule. To top it off, your new helper Midna helps you on your quest to escape from the realm of the twilight zone, but not before meeting someone. Interesting right? Well it just gets better and better, trust me.

      Game Play 10/10

Perfect perfect, and more perfect. My expectations of this game were fufilled. Just swing the wiimote and you will swing your sword in the game. Wave the nunchuk, and you'll do a spin slash. Even when your a wolf, just swing the wiimote and you'll attack the enemy/enemies your facing. Anything is possible.

      Graphics 10/10

Another perfect. Well maybe not that good graphics, but their still amazing for the wii. For those that didn't like the Wind Waker "Celda", then welcome back to OOT's look. Except it's even better graphics. I know they don't match up to the PS3's graphics at all, or the 360's graphics, but their pretty good fort he wii, compared to other titles like Red Steel, and Excite Truck.

      Controls 10/10

Once again perfect. Most games like Red Steel, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz, and excite truck need better controls. Welcome to Zelda. It's much more accurate. The actions are simple. Simply just swing the wiimote, and you'll slash with your sword on the game. Anyone new to the series can fully enjoy the controls, young to old. Now you move with the nunchuk. So it makes it easy to move and slash at the same time, but twice the amount of fun. And your arm doesn't hurt. Just a simple flick of the wiimote can send enemies flying.

      Overall 10/10

Every thing perfect. I really don't find anything wrong with this game. It was definitely worth of the $50 I payed for it, and is worth the effort and time. Buy or Rent? Go buy it now. I said it. X this, and go buy this game now. Any fans of the series will love the game, and any new-comers will find it fun too. If your seriously still sketchy about this game, then go rent it. Don't blame me for the late fee though. Well I hoped you enjoyed the review.
